Instagram drops photo maps feature

Instagram is phasing out its photo maps feature. This feature allowed you to see yours and others' geotagged photos on a map, with all photos taken at a particular location appear bunched together and as you zoom into the map the images would place themselves accordingly to different locations.

Sad to see this feature go. I will most likely end up using instagram less as it was almost a challenge to get a new map dot on your map. It was one of the things on social media that was pretty unique. I don't know of other social media sites having a photo map feature. It was cool to see your map of where you've been and looking at others maps. Maybe it is a feature that can be revamped and would not auto post your location so there was more privacy but overall I'm bummed about this no longer being an option.

      What's instagram? Never used it :))

        One problem was that once u took a photo without location turned on you could only manually add a location but it would require gps to be on and then only find nearby places not a worldwide coverage list......not effective if u took one place and didnt post until u got to a new town as far as i remember

              UrbanBird app is a great alternative to Instagram's photo maps. Not only the app creates photo maps from travel pictures but it also matches them with the best places in the neighborhood.                             This was actually my faborite feature. I was wondering why i could see it. And now i am here i couldnt see my own maps too thats really bad i loved to see photos on my maps it a very nice way to recall memories of past kindly dont remove it
