Both the cheaper version are locked carrier device and the other is china only unlocked devices I think and the pricier model are unlocked global version...

Wow! if the specs I have seen in the past weeks are really true and the price tags are also true, then this will be the best phone ever, I swear. I know huawei phones have good battery, good speed and can handle multi-tasking better than the other phones because of the 8 cores they normally use. I saw mali T 900, android Nougat 7. 0, hisilicon kirin 960, cat 12, dual cameras with optical image stabilization. Every thing is improved but The price is still very good value for money.

That's good offer, only if Huawei ditches some obnoxious EMUI's feature such as iOS-ish app-switcher. Pure Android manner is way way better.
Aside from that Mate is solid and I love it,
