You're probably the type of person who thinks that only screen consumes battery and that 2x more pixels means 2x more power draw. It doesn't work like that. For example, Samsung galaxy s7 doesn't have a big battery, but has high screen resolution yet it still has a much better battery life than OP3 with 1080p panel. There are things, which consume much more power than screen and resolution doesn't make that big of a difference to power draw as you would think. You should learn more about tech yourself. Do all of people here a favor and leave if you're not willing to do so.

I figured their pricing would've been a little more aggressive, but under $500 isn't too bad, especially for a 6" phone.

ok for the people here who are complaining first learn more about technologies and then you have the right to speak here ! 1080 display is much more power efficient than a QHD or even 4k display ! second mediocore design is something other maybe iphone 7 or the cheap plastic of samsung s7 !!! The price is very good for the these spec 6gb ram, top screen quality, top camera, a lot of storage for this price show me another phone in these price range !!!
You guys are ony complaining but you have no clue of life in smartphones
Chinese brands like OPPO Huawei and Xiaomi are the future as we see !!!!!

I have the Mate 8 and love it.. This seems a worthy upgrade as genuinely useful advances to the technology have been added. My only wish is that Huawei pushes more in Europe and becomes a bigger player. Obtaining acessories for my mate 8 in the UK is a hard time but no one else offers what I want from a phone. A truly powerful, large batteried, feature rich phablet.
