The phone is hard to use.. Not good to the touch.. Slow and causes problems.. Will not connect correct to my Lexus ES 350 texting part of the in dash computer. Works but has issues loading, stinks. Lexus dealer saw it in action and is in contact about the issue to its home office by a great employee that wants to help is some way..Google should take back these phones after they fix the issues and not let us die as testers...

Cant understand why no stereo speakers considering the rather large bezels. A step backwards surely? Just too expensive to justify upgrading from my Nexus 6P!

No one will ever pay 750$ for a 1080p screen with huge bezels and an ugly design just to say yeah I have stock Android!! Go get a nexus 6p much better than this worthless piece of #€£¥

so lets look at your logic so your saying if the pixel size is the same and the sensor size is the same it is the same sensor???? no no no you need to also look into : transparency of the photo receptor, read out architecture, what video recording features it supports and at how many frames, the interfaces D-PHY C-PHY , crosstalk reduction, how much energy does it draw etc etc but i know you know all this already forgive me for being inferior to you

I wonder if Google making the 8inch or 10inch or. 12inch tablet it would be great, because it must be stable than lagsung, maybe I will support it, but for smartphone I will go for Sony.

These OEM UIs you speak of? Enjoy it while you'll always receive the Android base via firmware updates MONTHS later (if ever or maybe once. Twice max; just ask Note 4 users). Security updates != core OS changes and not even the same thing. This is what Google wants to tackle through Pixel and solve the ongoing fragmentation issue which is never Google's fault but subpar OEMs keep using their UI changes as an excuse to half ass the base OS updates with it.

Only issue here is that Google imposes the Google tax for Pixels when those are nowhere near as fully developed as an iPhone.

AnonD-234961, 09 Oct 2016Can anyone tell me what was the actual effort put by Google... moreTrue, but then again, Google is an advertising company, not a hardware company. Google only makes the pixel available in 6 countries. It shows you that the Pixel is more of a side project. Google is still making money regardless of Android phone that you use.
But there are some stock Android fans, and Google acknowledge that there are some of them that will be willing to pay a premium for having a new Google feature/updates. Google simply capitalise on that. In the bigger scheme of things, the hardware sales is probably not a big percentage of Google's total revenue. But if they can get more profits, why not. Thus the premium pricing.

You may be right about the price drop but Nexus didn't do so well in the beginning either, and yet they ended up developing a strong fan base, same thing will happen with Pixel but at a much faster rate because it's geared toward Samsung/Apples premium offerings and also due to Googles attention and full control over the hardware, software and best in the biz timely updates.

It's failing, well at least in this survey as a direct iPhone competitor, and one of the reasons is the UI. Vanilla experience is no doubt a pleasure to some but not to many and the NUMBERS DON'T LIE. The UI doesn't have the finesse or the attractiveness you can find in iOS or the other skinned UI like the Grace UI, Xperia UI. Stock android may add to the speed, but for a day-to-day use, in which skinned UI speed suffice, users like me will choose the one that is also visually appealing aside from having a smoother and faster response. To be honest, even if it performs so well, many will still consider the user interface as a big part in their decision-making on which device to choose. And the Android 7 in this device looks just boring and Cheap.

It's not quite the dream phone (it's missing water resistance, front facing stereo speakers and wireless charging). However, it's hot enough (or warm) for me to buy it. I really like Android OS and the best way to experience it for me at the moment is stock. (Currently using iPhone 6S)
