07 October 2016

Can we simultaneously download content in the background and shoot 4K video on Apple iPhone 7 32GB??? If for some 32GB model's 39MBps write speed doesn't matter in day to day use......

AnonD-86742, 24 Oct 2016Note 7 was far superior, & the new HTC, LG, Sony, Pixel... moreEach to their own dude; arguing about which is best is nothing but apples verses oranges. Sometimes it's not just about the 'hardware' but the operating system too.

Originally I wanted a change, I had my eyes on the Note 7 but then the recalls and project cancellation pretty much nailed it for me. Maybe I'll get the Note 8 when that appears, for the moment I'm using an iPhone 7 256Gb and happy having access to iOS messenger. I am however still need a second smartphone... Let's hope Samsung doesn't cock up next year eh?

Wait for the Galaxy S8/Note 8 & Apple will have to close the shop.

We shouldn't forget that iphone 7 has two gates. The memory gate and 4g chipgate. The qualcomm iphones have significantly faster mobile internet speed and better connection than those with intel chips. Apple does everything to betray their customers. But sadly ifans don't care that apple products get worse with every generation.

Anonymous, 20 Oct 2016Please read pivale's comment. That’s a point. http://www.... moreYes, 128GB iPhone 7 wrote to memory at 341Mbps, but 32GB iPhone 7 was over 8 times slower at just 42Mbps. Users don't care about tech reason, but the final results. 32gb iPhone 6s does NOT have this problem, so cheaper components were used.

                          1) well if its abt + or - 10mbps ..u cant see change..but here its abt 250mbps write speed...so yes its very much easy to see diff while transferring, storing datas
2)not really like that.. it depends on which type of storage they use

First, one of the apps run the benchmark called PassMark dones’t optimize for arm64 architecures, and that will affect the result. Then, test scores varies from device to device. In the comment I see it is possible 30% - 40% R&W speed lower than the high-end version but not extend to 8x.

I made the same test of the 10 min 4k video, cut more or less in half and got 34 seconds to complete with iPhone 7 32gb. So I guess it changes from phone to phone.

Is there also a difference between the writing speed in the Iphone 7 and Iphone 7 Plus 128 gb model?

johnrazor, 15 Oct 2016I got similar results to the one show here... needless to s... morereturned it and my new 128 gb version is showing the reults that can be seen here, it's way faster than my 32 gb version. honeslty can see a MARkED difference in speed and the extra 100$ is worth it.

My pm961 beats many PCIe MLC SSDs and every single SATA MLC SSD. But the coming MLC 960 pro is indeed significantly faster.
