I have a Galax GTX 1050ti that I bought a month ago for about 165$ here in the Philippines and it runs smoothly in GTA 5 in very high settings for about 60 fps w/ 8gb of ram and I'm using the old ivy i5 3770k but if your going to set to "ultra" the frame rate will drop s within 27-30 fps. so I am planning now to upgrade 1060 soon.

the looks part is entirely subjective..some are drawn to the sleek aluminium, whereas some people like the grippy carbon fibre..and macbooks do have backlit keyboards right?? for a pro backlit keys are useless but for the average user they are very useful...i use a k70 rgb myself...
and i agree macbooks seem to be more durable..the thing is regular laptops are just as durable..the people who buy them are different..my hp laptop(a pavillion..i can't afford a full specced macbook in india..price to spec ratio is not justified) is running nicely after 5+ years of rough use(read video rendering)..personal laptops have higher longevity..lifetime of a gadget decreases exponentially after it becomes a community/ family device...
and updates...i'm not sure updates are a good thing...you may be a mac user, i think, even so you must have seen the mess microsoft made with the windows 10 update..now they are pushing updates without asking us, windows 10 forums are filled with articles on HOW TO STOP UPDATES..

If you like a gaming notebook, checkout Razer gaming notebooks. Many people boot camp windows on their macs. My guess is Mac OS is not good enough for them. Apple do make good hardware but they price is much higher than competition.

Mac is not a beast.. its just a laptop for kids who brag about apple or business oriented people

Generally, TSMC has no 14nm fabrication node so unless NVidia is engaging other pureplay foundries else this is not going to happen.

A thin and lightweight unibody aluminum chassis or a fat block of plastic surrounded by irritating LEDs?
