2, Google Pixel
3, LG G5
4, Huawei P9
5, Galaxy s7
6, iPhone 7 (Jet black only, the rest are ugly as hell due to their new antenna line placement, good phone though)

I don't know that why people hate Samsung so much... before using s7 i used htc m7 ,xperia z3 iphone 6s and then got this beauty... for those apple fans i know you love your iphones more than anything else... bt just change your iPhone for one day with s7 (s7 edge would be much better) and i think if you leave that fan factors aside and be nutral then you gonna love it more then your iphones.
Every one knows that apple has their own plus point over android but there are so many little things about Samsung which makes it more loveable let it be no lights black display or low light picture quality or the extra hour of juice at the end of day. Obvious these small things make you a bit happier. Any thing which doesn't have a half apple logo is not always bad... i know that everything with Samsung too is not good and, if it were good this year every one can imagine what would have happned to apple (if everything were good with note 7 )

A lot of stores offer the Samsung S7,take that in notice.A lot of places let switching from S6 to S7 for small amount of price,and same goes for Iphone 7.In my country half the stores offer G5,half don't same goes for HTC,Sony and others.
Samsung is literally flooding the market with it's phone so it's available to all.Plus a lot of markets give it with a VR set.You need to take in notice that brand,availability,high scores in many youtube reviews,geekbenches also makes it popular.I mean c'mon how many sites do you see saying other phones have better camera than S7 ? Except for GSM.
S7 vs him,S7 vs others.I haven't seen any youtube reviewer to start off comparing the new phone with G5 or HTC 10.Tech trinkets,Androind authority,xetechcare,L BS,all great reviewers start off with comparing the new phones with Samsung S7.
It's all in the advertisement people.Plus S7 doesn't take too long to update to the newest android.I mean the S6 got nougat and i am sure it will get android 8.0 as well.

I really think that S7 especially the regular is the best. Major factors are camera, battery life (Exynos), and affordable.

if you would put in that poll LG v20 it would look WAY different than now.
Its weird that v20 is praised to be one of best phones of 2016 and still most of sites threat it as a medicore/second in the line device.
Even G5 cant match it to be honest, because in real life v20 look and work damn amazing.

s7, really? I don't see how people can even consider that phone.
My note 4 has purple smudge, but that might be fixed in s7, I doubt it, because all amoleds I've seen have a purple smudge
the performance is a pure joke on samsung, everything is laggy and has a delay
The quality is just awful, they also never update anything

This is how I know there are haters on this site. Firstly, the poll was for the best SMARTPHONE of 2016 and not the best PHABLET for 2016. For the same reason the Samsung Note 7 is not on the list, the iPhone 7 Plus, Google Pixel XL, LG V20, Xiaomi Mi Note, Huawei Mate etc. are also absent. Maybe GSMA will make a poll for that soon, who knows. Secondly, if we are looking at an all round stellar smartphone, the results echo that reality. I think iPhone is second because of its exclusivity and price tag. I think the LG is as low as it is due to the ambitious take on the G5 which unfortunately was given the cold shoulder by consumers. Huawei and Xiaomi are both brilliant and although they're all the rage in Eastern markets due to their low price tags and superior spec sheets, they are still not "household names" in many Western markets so to speak. Sony and HTC are in a phase of obscurity at the moment due to both their phone divisions underpreformance so I think they're both making phones which are capable and reasonably priced to move off the selfs rather than making beastly smartphones to kill the competition which would also mean they'd have to charge even more for them than they already do. Google establishing an independent phone brand to take over the Nexus moniker means that it's the newcomer on the list so the fact that it's third is already impressive and promising. Samsung coming first in that sense makes a lot of sense... to me at least.

This narrow n small phone voted best phone of 2016, you got to be kidding! It's too premature for this. You have to wait until end of the year to decide. Still a lot of new phones emerging.

Srb, 23 Oct 2016why is iphone 7 there? the iphone has just 1 month and S7 h... moreso do you want to compare iPhone 6 or 6s with these, comparatively, newer phones?
then you should know the results already...
