The slight upgrade in the camera department and other internals does come at a price hike of around $80.

ssbatman21, 27 Oct 2016Everyone complaining out lcd on this device are just taking... moreIf you're a fan of "Dark Mode" under settings the LCD won't do it justice no matter what the contrast ratio is, nothing is better in that regard than an AMOLED. With that being said i agree with you on the whole rumor thing.. OnePlus said they would be using AMOLED displays from the OP3 and on, so we must not believe anything until it has been confirmed.

Dash charging works wonders though, so i'm not worried about battery life either. I usually plug it in for 15 mins before leaving work and i'm good for the rest of the day.

Amoled or LCD/IPS is missing the point. What desperately needs upgrading is the resolution, otherwise the VR experience with this phone is be very subpar.

They should have started there, not the CPU or the camera (even though this latter could welcome an improvement to re-affirm the "flagship status" -- the previous wasn't bad by any means, just not really on par with what today's flagships offer).

Everyone complaining out lcd on this device are just taking that alleged rumour too seriously.....
Oneplus has officially promised to stick to amoled.
Ps- lcd would be better for sharpness and blacks wont matter too much if the contrast ratio is above 1:1500

It's not a power users phone per say but if you combine the dark mode + AMOLED display + the best charging solution in the business you really don't have to worry about battery life. Unless of course you're not by a charger all day..

There's no denying that as far as sharpness & clarity goes, an LCD would do a better job than the AMOLED pentile display found on the OP3. But even then i don't think i can switch back to an LCD on this particular device. The inky blacks of the AMOLED screen play very well with the dark mode found in the settings. Dark mode just wouldn't be the same and the 821 chip & new camera sensor aren't enough for me to be to switch over to this new model. I will be keeping my OP3 for now. I love this thing!

Should have improved the battery life. That's the most disappointing aspect of the Oneplus 3.

aasdf, 27 Oct 2016RIP I just ordered my 1+3 and a newer model comes out :/Except for the camera, there really isn't anything to look forward to. You'll probably enjoy the better AMOLED over the LCD anyway, that would actually make a noticeable difference.

they are testing new price limits, i hope they will fail, because 400$ for a phone with good soc and materials is enough.

Many ppl's are waiting for a small phone thanks to lack frontface camera, big screen at least 5.2" huge 1/1,7" back camera with decent soc(a72/a73) for max 300$

My 4.6" HD LCD panel looks nearly as sharp as a 5" FHD AMOLED one. This phone is a refresh and if it comes with 128GB internal and the new camera then it'll be an overall upgrade.
