Absolutely LOVE the new Porsche Design Mate 9, but for ~$2,000 Aussie Dollars, definitely not going to happen! - The absence of a microSD is a dealbreaker, the rest of the reviews I've read, the standard Mate 9 looks to be the best, but missing the AMOLED screen, but I could maybe allow it for this time! 4,000mAh battery is great, but I still expect it to have great battery mileage, maybe 2 days of heavy use.? Need to play with the Mate 9 b4 I even decide.

I have a mate 8 and I dont understand why they dont offer the 6 Gig or ram and 256 internal storage for the Mate 9. Why do i have to sacrifice size and screen design (i hate curved edges) for more ram and storage space

AnonD-567503, 04 Nov 2016It's funny to see people argue about 1080p panel for not us... moremost budget value laptop still using 768p monitor.. and to make it worse those people who whining 1440p on their 5incher phone perhaps unable to tell difference between 720p vs 1080p movies on their 13inch laptop!!

It's funny to see people argue about 1080p panel for not using 1440p while most people still use 1080p monitor.

Mate 9 is small, but fine upgrade over Mate 8
Better cameras, stronger GPU, 4K video...
I just don't see why did the gave it 5.9 inch? On the plus side it still has big battery and Full hd screen because you don't need more

Porsche Design is a nonsence. Besides 6 GB RAM it has nothing over Mate 9. Useless QHD, front placed fingerprint sensor, why? And extremely high price. It will have much worse battery life because of QHD, it will perform almost the same in benchmarks and it will fail because of 1400 € asking price

Ok, I have Mate 8 so I can be the judge here.
                  -----------------MATE 9------------------
                  PLUS:
Still big and strong battery, one of the best
Still Full HD resolution, QHD is unnecessary
Still full metal, but I prefer solution without plastic flaps on top and bottom, I like plastic stips better, like on Mate S or Porsche Design Mate 9
Stronger GPU, even though I never had any issues with Mate 8
Big upgrade on cameras, Dual Leica plus selfie cam with autofocus. Cameras on Mate 8 are solid but nothing special.
64 GB basic storage plus Dual Sim (or Sd card). Great combo

                  MINUS:
5.9 inch. Why go down when Mate 8 was 6 inch?

                  ----------Porsche Design Mate 9-----------
                  PLUS:
                  6 GB RAM
Great battery wasn't sacrificed, 4000 mah
No plastic flaps, full metal body, gorgeous
5.5 inch if you don't need more than that.
                  MINUS:
QHD screen. It's a gimmick because human eye can't see the difference at this small screen and it drains battery.
                  Front placed fingerprint sensor. Why?
                  High price, too high

                  Thank you

It's so tacky to have a 'Porsche design' logo on the top like that. And a Leica branding on the back too lol.

                              Huawei Mate 9 = 6 inches
Google Pixel XL = 5.5 inches

Even though the Mate 9 has a bigger screen, it's basically the same footprint of the Pixel XL because Google added some useless bezels
