If everyone pushed for the truly latest and greatest tech each year, they run the risk of not being able to make anything better the year after if R&D comes to a hault for some reason. The same reason Intel, who has technology right now that they wont release until 2019, are doing what they are doing. So because Intels' holding onto 2016 tech, that they will eventually release in 2019, by the time that comes around, they will have caught up with advances even more which of course wouldnt be released until far later after 2019.

One of the reasons these new / chinese manufacturers are so impressive is that since they have nothing to lose and everything to gain, they force the market to play "catch up", since the held back tech has been forced out the window by them, and when this happens, all other bigger OEM's now look silly, and have to release one of their later-year "concepts" much sooner. This happens all of the time with consumer electronics. There exists technology right this very minute that we wont see for another 10 years.

I will be surprised if they actually manage to make an almost bezelless display. Why though can a small Chinese manufacturer do it and the big ones can't, that's what I'm wondering.

Real time performance of KIRIN 650 is on par with SD821 and historically we know that they make non-heating and efficient processors.

Anom, 14 Nov 2016Seriously Kirin than Exynos? The pro 6 came even worse. with Helio X25 that scored about 102k points. it's a MASSIVE jump from the deca core CPU to the Octa. and Score is not too shabby either. I've understood it scores 134k points in Antutu. 30% improvement! :D

                                    Seriously Kirin than Exynos?

I thought the Meizu M2 Note was a pretty good phone, above average battery life. But I thought the Pro 5 was one of the best phones I ever owned. Sold it though because I felt it was a bit too big for my liking. I would like to see Meizu come out with a high end 4.7 inch phone to rival Apple's recent iPhones. There isn't much competition in this size range, only Sony makes high end compact Android phones and they are not great value for money.
