mir, 17 Nov 2016And what's that got to do with his point?Correction: no, I wasn't wrong. I replied to the right comment. (damn, it's still early morning here).

It's just that you didn't understand what he and I said.

Some people want updates and they complain if they don't get it, while others don't want updates and they complain if they get updates.

Smart people never enable automatic updates (it's true for both app updates and Android system updates). Smart people have the mindset that their phone is their own property, so they don't allow anyone (other people, manufacturers, carriers) to decide what should happen to their own phone. They decide whether they want to install the updates or not, and if they want updates, they control which ones are allowed to be installed or install manually the ones they want.

Still, even with this update, the battery lasts longer than in the iPhone

When Samsung engineers themselves acknowledged that they were cutting corners and there were risks, you don't need a tinfoil hat to simply exchange the recalled phone. Your notion of some conspiracy behind it is as credible as those people asking for Obama's birth certificate.

Smart people would exchange the phone right away. Only stupid people will risk having a recalled device that can hurt people around him/her.
The only reason keeping the phone is to have it explode and then sue Samsung. Other than that, it's utterly moronic.

Not really a fan of Samsung but lately i have been really curious to know that why there is no news of any Note7 exploding for like 2 months now. Was it only to force Samsung to recall all Note7s?

Best strategy Samsung inc. could have adopted is to discontinue soon after it had issues with the note 7. Instead of revamping the product with a new battery they could have rebranded the same device with the new modifications.
All in all the strategy which adopted by Samsung did tarnish their image as well as their financials leading them in to a disarray situation for the next couple of years.
I strongly believe is that Samsung should introduce a new premium sub-brand series following the success of Xiaomi's MiMix.....
Note 8 or a Galaxy S8 wont have a huge hype unless otherwise those phones look different than the predecessors......
Market seeks and demands for a different looking phone now...........

Better to force it to shutdown and can not be restarted. Then the owners will have no choice but to return it for others safety.
