LG USA will give you a full refund if your Nexus 5X is stuck in a boot loop

24 November 2016
If you have an LG Nexus 5X bought from the US, you might be among the unlucky few whose devices have been stuck in a boot loop. This basically renders the handset unusable, since it never successfully completes a boot after entering this state. It's definitely not the first LG handset to have this issue, by the way. But there's some good news for owners of affected Nexus 5X units.

My nexus 5x is in a boot loop. so i called it in to be repair because of extended warranty, and so they had told me to remove battery. i did remove battery because the customer service representative told me to. A month later they said it was "TAMPERED" because the battery was remove. then i asked how much would it be to repair it. i get an email saying the repairing price of $356 USD. I had paid $349 from B&H Photo. Now that i read that the LG is order to pay people with boot loop problem. i should have waited.

Be aware of how LG Customer Service works....I'm in the process of having my device repaired, so far it's been 2 weeks since LG received my phone and they still don't have an ETA on when it will be ready. Original ETA was 6 business days, having to call them I learned that in fact it would be 7-9 business days. Still now 12 business days after no ETA available.
Fun fact, last friday I requested the Cust Support Rep to escalate to get status ASAP, today they tell me the SLA to care for Escalations is 72 business hours..so much for escalation!
Anyways, today I was told they MAY send me the email about getting a refund but not sure about this until Tech Support completes their part. Here I am waiting, 3 weeks so far. Not "within a couple of days" like this article states.

Good luck and hope we all get refunds that will help us pay half of a new Pixel =)

                My turn!
My 5X started the boot loop 2 weeks ago. I contacted LG and they had me send the phone in to them. FedEx Ground. Great. 2 weeks later, I get the phone back. The SIM card tray was not returned and the phone started up and went right back in to the boot loop. I contacted LG again and they asked me to send the phone in. Again. FedEx Ground. They would not upgrade to Overnight. They would not automatically accept that this is a dead phone and begin the refund process. I was on the phone for hours, waiting for a supervisor, until the Rep (who, I'm not sure English was her first language), said she'd call me back when a Supervisor was available. That was 3 days ago. Still nothing.
