There is nothing pro about this "pro" and come on Samsung, make your own design. This looks like HTC! People are fed up with this design!

Ace, 26 Nov 2016Can someone explain to me what's up with holding and postpo... moreSure...here goes. First Google releases the new update for their own devices (just to make them a little extra special) and boost the sales. Then the other 3rd party phone manufacturers are getting the chance to get the update. It's not that easy though, because they have to tailor it to work with their hardware and they make their own changes to the UI. The more changes they make, the longer it takes. Once that's done, you still can't use it right away, because then your network providers have to make sure, that it'll work well with their own network (and this is the stage, which takes the most time). Carriers tend to get lazy and slow with the adaptation of new OS (though sometimes they just wait, to make sure most of the bugs and holes will get fixed before they get a stab at it). Every step of the way involves a lot of beta testing, to make sure you will get a fairly stable OS. Some manufacturers push it, and make the updates faster, some countries and network providers will be the same in that regard. You don't want to wait? Get yourself a Google phone (though I'm not recommending Pixel due to its insane price). Moto, LG and Sony are known for getting their updates fast, but like I said...it's just one stage, it is still a waiting game.

arun5959, 26 Nov 2016I will never buy Samsung phones. They tend to compromise on... moreIf you just want a S652 then get a Xiaomi. If you want better software/screen/camera/updates/quality control get a Samsung.

The CPU is only one part of the equation.

arun5959, 26 Nov 2016I will never buy Samsung phones. They tend to compromise on... moreXiaomi have terrible UI that bottle down processor speed, swallows ram like crazy and has a lot of bugs and terrible qualitty of camera.

I will never buy Samsung phones. They tend to compromise on sensors or build quality. Or are priced too high. Imagine a Samsung sd652 SOC powered phone costing Rs 36000/-. Compared to that I am using Xiaomi Mi max prime with same internals, sorry better internals, which costed only Rs 19999/-.This xiaomi Mi max has 128 gb rom and 4gb ram!!

Can someone explain to me what's up with holding and postponing the latest version of Android? Why when new version is announced, most devices get it like 6 months later?
