And Oled tech has become so good that burn out is rare. Image retention can be fixed easily if it happens.
The problem with burnout has been blue LEDs have a shorter voltage lifetime so they get weaker over time. This is why the Diamond Matrix tech was created to take advantage of color sizing/arrangement. The lumia 950xl uses this tech and I have had it for a year with no issues. You also should keep auto and suggested brightness unless in deep sun or something. Either way, it's still as good as it was when new. My brother has a much older lumia 925 oled screen and has no issues either.
I think the only times these issues occur are when you get a bad screen due to manufacturing errors which will happen. No process is 100% without error rate. There's also the devices that are left in stores powered on 24/7 at max brightness. Not a typical scenario as the screen goes off quite a lot during its usage lifetime.

Higher resolution, well of course, it would be 4K.
Why?
Well, because it would sit in a Plus type of device, and that has Full HD today, and since 4K is 4 times the resolution it's backwards compatible. When a Full HD app runs on a 4K screen, a basic process can be performed that simply uses 4 pixels on the 4K screen to draw each Full HD pixel.
We could probably then expect the smaller iPhone, to get a bump in resolution to Full HD, if not the same year, it will be there for the next.
QHD has the same proportion to HD (720p), but QHD is not a standard resolution. And since 720p is not enough DPI for anything over 5", QHD phone makers has not implemented such a scaling process, at least not in general.
And for VR QHD simply isn't enough.
So there are many advantages to go for 4K.
And because of how display works, the Apple Retina theory is incomplete, sure if your sight is not better than good, you wont be seeing pixels if the display has the retina DPI count, but there is still color noise, and the black between pixels is still so big that the pixels do not appear to form a single surface (look at a single color image on a screen, and it will appear spotty, even if the display has retina DPI count).
Unfortunately, this is not all solved by 4K displays, as there is still some effect of that even on the 4K sony device.

appl has just developed a new wide color gamete display for ip 7, it ant going anywhere for at least next 10 years. OLED might be a thing on 20th anniversary. iPhone not as advanced as samsung etc as with its low res display the device hardly runs full day on a single charge. imagine a 2k or 4k screen would do to iphone. Also low res OLED screen do no look good in real life.

No no, its nonsense, apple wil not use samsung oled with the famous burn in, unacceptable considering iphones has at least 3 times longer usable life span than galaxy phones, and the way oled gets darker over the years is alone reason enough to stay clear. Not gonna happen, empty rumors once again.
