AnonD-312515, 01 Dec 2016Like how Sony improved so much from the XP to the XZ by fin... moreLike how much effort does it take to realize that the XZ is a successor of Z5 and the X Performance was rather a BETA-like version of what the XZ should be. From XZ to Z5, not much has changed. If there are, mostly it's inside and not much outside:
-complete re-design (metal is better than frosted glass, and the camera lens is now real glass)
-move to USB Type C
-new sensors like laser autofocus and RGBC-IR for better photography level
-new software (refined and improved UI, better manual camera controls, new features on Nougat)
-display technology is the same, but brightness, contrast, black levels, color accuracy, and overall quality is hugely improved
-camera is the same 23mp camera, with only added 2 additional sensors and predictive autofocus, but low light capability is miles better, though DxOMark doesn't seem to approve it
-SoC is more powerful and efficient, and better software optimization helps get the most out of the 820, hence this phone even beats the OP3, which was once considered the fastest android phone of 2016
-battery is still the same, but new features like Battery Care, and better STAMINA mode was brought, resulting to a much better battery life and health of the battery
I can still go on, but these are the major upgrades Sony has done
