I'm in the market for a new phone I was going to buy the new Oneplus 3t but the price and 5 week wait for the 128gb put me off a bit. so I think I'll wait to see what spec and price the new Nokia is.

Jack, 02 Dec 2016Been saying for a long time that a partnership between Noki... moreAgreed. Best phone I have ever owned (including all modern smart phones) was the Noka N95 8GB Black. Has it all: Awesome slide out keypad, superb screen, very good even by today's standards voice navigation maps, excellent camera (back then!), d-pad made navigating the UX easier than today's phones, stereo speakers!, generally just a cool phone. Would love on today with Android and a larger screen, but retaining the slide out keypad.

If when we see this phone say something like "Nokia connecting people" then it will be a success.

They have the potential to become what HTC used to be around 2013, but Google is already stealing that space. Both Nokia and Blackberry may see a small market for themselves if they can put out quality though. But the market is so saturated it wouldn't be surprising if they fail miserably.

Well if Google are going to be heavily involved,Nokia still not learned a lesson.
Hmd want to be the next HTC,making phones but with others badges on them, like HTC used to be in their xda days..
They will just be more middle of the road soulless rubbish, about as exciting as a low/midrange Samsung from two years ago...

just give me a N8 with modern internals, size, and android and i'll be happy, or even an android powered communicator.

I doubt if the likes of the Nokia N9 or the 808 Pure View will ever return. What you will get is yet more run of the mill Droid choices.

Been saying for a long time that a partnership between Nokia and Google would be an absolute powerhouse. Nokia still has some brand-recognition and their hardware is amazing. Great sound quality, battery life, customer support, loved loved absolutely LOVED the previous Nokia phones I owned. Sure they got a little stupid at times with pick and choosing features among their handsets and they dropped the ball on developing a great touch smartphone OS, but if the next Pixel handset was developed by Nokia I would absolutely freak the hell out.

Non-removable battery and the ... moreStock android is the best what do you want heavily ui like touchwiz, lg, sony, huawei, xiaomi ? look at lenovo and oneplus they use near stock android and even their low range phones are faster than most flagships with high price tag

lets just hope nokia makes a near stock android rom like OnePlus's OxygenOS. not stock bcs it would be boring and definitely not heavily customised ui like most brands makes.

                                        "So, what can we expect?"

Non-removable battery and the useless and boring stock Android, no features or options.

The definition of “Simplicity” and “Ease of use” is: no features, no options, no user choice, the user don't have the control over his own property. It is true for everything.
Nowadays, the developers remove all useful features and all customization, and make useless, crap softwares. Look at for example the Here WeGo (there are absolutely no settings to change the way it works, you can't even search for POIs offline anymore, while in the older versions you used to be able), Google Maps (white roads on white background, useless offline, no settings like in Here), Chrome browser and the development direction of Firefox (stopping support for all addons except WebExtensions, copying the Chrome's user interface), Windows 10, etc. They take away all the control from the user and enforce the crap flat, monochrome design.
