Amazon announces Amazon Go: cashier-less, local grocery stores

05 December 2016
Amazon is one of the more ambitious retail giants of this generation. Even more so now with the company’s unveiling of Amazon Go: a retail store that sells foods, snacks, lunch items, and groceries. There’s nothing special about a 7Eleven-type of convenience store. However what Amazon has in mind for this store is much bigger.

Dark Reed, 07 Dec 2016Everyone is asking about what will happen with cashier's wo... moreon that note a few years ago i was working in a farm and was still a new recruit and there was a wage strike at the pack house and after two days the owner of the farm had a prototype of a packing system that could receive produce from the feild trucks, wash the product, sort by size, colour and class then pack the products in retail packages. by then it dawned on everyone who was working there that their jobs were over only the managers and forklift drivers were left to run the show people who were sorting, class selecting and packaging were dismissed and you guessed it "replaced by a low class gigg that had a few sensors and microchips and a bunch of conveyor belts and seives".

on the other hand now i want to replace my workers with an automatic farming systems coz they just dont wanna pull thier weight and I'm having big losses on my project. its a hard decision and its a morally draining issue but some times machines are what is needed to progress but they leave more people jobless meaning thier dependants could be left to suffer. only time will tell how humans will progress those who choose machines will prosper(machines dont get tired or sick, decide to go on strike or on leave meaning continuous production and or functionality which is a guaranteed method of maximizing profit) those who cant afford the tech or cant get needed skills and opportunities will suffer.

Everyone is asking about what will happen with cashier's work. May I ask how the food will get to the shelves?

Now, I don't think Amazon haves a robot for that.

Maybe what you think is "greed" is actually progress.

Another way to put people out of work...tsk, tsk, tsk...

Let the robot feed them? Beg for foods ? Good for those who are receiving high salaries. Pity for those who are unable to attend school/uneducated people due to poverty. I remember when I visit a place. They collect scrap materials so that hey could sell it to junk shop and gain a little amount of penny enough to feed their stomach 1x a day. Imagine that? Greed is Evil

Rich people don't care about others(Not all but MOSTLY). They will not lend even a single penny for poor people . THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR FERRARI's or High-end Smartphones! Sad but TRUE. People are selfish! We tend to AIM higher and higher and make impossible things to be possible. By 2050. There will be flying people around the city wearing high-tech suits.
