Gibby , 12 Dec 2016Samsung pay IS available in Canada. After months of moanin... moreI know right. There is clearly lack of technology awareness for this MST system. They would be like,

"We dont accept wireless payment or NFC payment. Its not going to work. Stop wasting your time. This terminal is not going to work with your phone. Blablabla.."

Samsung really need to step up the marketing game. They need to promote this MST more. I mean, how often do you waste your time explaining about Samsung Pay when you try to make a payment to the cashier.

Gibby , 12 Dec 2016Samsung pay IS available in Canada. After months of moanin... moreI mean, not ONLY at CIBC. It is like a new app ony available to one single device model (Say, the Exynos variant of the Canadian G935W. If you have the G935F or just the G935W with Snapdragon, you are screwed), but we are now talking about a bank.

AnonD-558092, 12 Dec 2016When are Android-based payment services coming to Canada?!?... moreSamsung pay IS available in Canada.
After months of moaning about it I finally got my wish! :))
I use it with a CIBC Aventura Mastercard and it works perfectly.
First time I used it in a bar where the waitress insisted they couldn't do tap touch payment. I said, "Doesn't matter". She quite annoyingly replied, "OK- but you're wasting your time." (Clearly the woman had not heard of MST)
The payment worked first time. Waitress's jaw just about hit the floor as the receipt started printing out!
      Thank you Samsung :D
      My wallet is officially redundant!

AnonD-453339, 12 Dec 2016Mostly Malaysia people only use visa pay wave , this Samsun... more"Most malaysian are using visa paywave"... untrue.

There is still a lot of people trusting Samsung even after the Note7 incident. The MST tech makes Samsung Pay better than other mobile payment options although swipe to pay terminals is slowly phased out in Malaysia.

          P/S: I'm Malaysian.

AnonD-453339, 12 Dec 2016Mostly Malaysia people only use visa pay wave , this Samsun... moreWow! This guy hate Samsung so much. Here's a fact buddy, not everyone in S.Korea use Samsung device either. Btw, visa pay wave is nice but not many outlet in Msia have the device supporting it from what I see. Most people still swipe their card or use cash. I will salute you if msia so-called 'kedai mamak' and conventional store use paywave. Lost trust over an exploded Note7 only? Dude, are you serious? Fyi, no one use Note7 anymore and Samsung Pay wont explode because its a freakin' payment system! However, knowing msian culture, it will be a super slow adoption of this new payment system. Very sceptical msian like you plus the low awareness in technological developement there. Msia is left behind very very far from its neighbour, Singapore.

1.They don't have any choice do they. There're no Android Pay in Malaysia and Apple Pay is supported by very few vendors

"this Samsung pay will not been using it another reason not everyone at Malaysia use Samsung"

              2. Tell me which country have all the people use only Samsung phones.

"So Samsung pay please go away try on other country and we not trusted you anymore after that explode device"

              3. That's a little far fetched dont you think? Does using Samsung pay will make your phone explode. Lol.

When are Android-based payment services coming to Canada?!? No Android Pay, no Samsung Pay, and we have to rely on banks' own mobile payment solutions (which are rather cheap. They include putting a ''mini credit card'' inside your phone's cover (if you have, or else you can put some tape on it, includes PayPass and all the related Touch and Go style payment), which is super not safe at all. Or you can also get their own app (if they offer it) but only works with some devices, and only works with NFC (no MST for older POS) and only their own POS (so you will need a POS enabled for TD's app, and Scotia Bank's app, and Desjardins' app, and so on).
