Maybe iPhone has collected data of users actually plugging in to the 3.5mm jack and saw that majority of people do not, hence they dare to make this move. For those who use it are the minority and it makes more business sense to launch the air pod. I feel it's overpriced but like FM Radio, it's probably just as unnecessary. For Samsung, it might be a bit of a problem removing it cos people have alternatives, Apple has none.

Get rid of that useless big hole already! Only foolish nostalgists need it, or actually they only think they do. Its more useless than parallel printer ports and 21 pin serial ports.

Samsung always like that they put FM before then they take it out put in IR blaster after that they take it off. Well if the sale went down if samsung pull out headphone jack they will put it in just like micro sd card.
