Take phones and videos, Arc has very good experience base on sony's technology. Other company cannot give you the same quality.

        @ Johan L
The fact IS the Arc. An expensive phone with last year's technology. The non fact is that SE has a dual core phone. So far there aren't any rumors about a dual core phone from SE. Arc has been official for 20 days now, and still has 2 1/2 months before going on sale. Even if SE leaks a dual core now it will take them at least 6 months to get it in the market. This will be 7 months after LG and Motorola, 5 months after Samsung, and along with the iphone 5

rafe, 27 Jan 2011Arc design really attract and may win some innocent hearts.... moreRAFE: Base your childish statements with some facts. SE of course has a dual core in the pipe for 2011. Arc is a design product not a technology leap. It is true that the focused on their own UI a bit too much in the beginning of the Android era, but now they have changed their game plan and are in line with other manufacturers for their new phones.

For the xperia arc your paying $700 for last years specs instead of getting a much more powerful dual core.
The phones looks great and I love the design, however its overpriced so Ill just grab some ugly looking android that is faster and cheaper than the arc now.

Anonymous, 27 Jan 2011Not everyone is willing to fork out $600- 700+ just to have... morefirst, it's not bragging about cutting edge. if you read my statement carefully, dual core is meant for specific section of android market games with quality of iphone games. it's required dual core + processor.
second, if you talking about tegra3 / quad core, that's what I think about cutting edge which aren't necesarry, not to mention about battery life concern.
third, SE Arc isn't cheap either.

So, I'm personally would go with dual core phones like moto atrix, galaxy S2, or optimus 2x if you have tighter budget. And oh, maybe unannounced HTC's next flagship will also have dual core processor.

OMG! 460 GBP for xperia arc! That's 32,473 Php!!! I'm eyeing xperia arc because i expect it to be priced like n8 and wave 2. But now... if i'm going to pay that much i'll just get myself a dual core phone!! At least i have the latest hardware i won't get easily outdated.

Though i really love arc's design, and camera. I hope when it's available on retail, the price will drop. -fingers crossed- i'm not losing hope.

Even with subsidies, it will still be a significant amount for sure. Tegra 3/quads will be out later on this year. It will surely bring down the prices of the duals and your investment will devaluate. The prices of the dual cores are still high and I don't think the masses will line up to buy them. SE have a good chance here with the price of the Arc.

Arc design really attract and may win some innocent hearts. but really when you look beneath the cover, then realize, how lame it is compared to other manufacturer phone to be.

They'll bring dual core processor which will have special segment on android market games department, meant to compete with iphone games!

Hello SE, you're left behind in the race. and the only company that even behind you is nokia and that's it!!

The volume-rocker is to small, and the unnecessary hardwarebottons below screen are too thin and unpleasantly sharp. The camera-lens is too close to the edge and the miniscule camera key is to small.
Arc is to "rectangular" with making it less comfortable in the hand.

GSM Arena, please advise as to what is unreasonable about a £460 price tag for the Xperia Arc? This is comparable to the Nexus S and other high end phones such as the HTC Desire HD which retailed for £499! Of course, we would like all smart phones to be cheaper but do try to play fair. This is a better phone than most out there and easily the most attractive phone, probably, of 2011. Don't hate on SE unnecessarily your bias is showing. BTW, IP4 16G retails for £499 and 32G for £599 - please discuss!!
