Just have a look at GSMArena's battery life table. Most of the latest Samsung offering's are above 75+ hours, with many of them in the 90-100 ballpark range. Mediatek are definitely improving albeit a slow pace. Even after so many years their efficiency is uninspiring and while the CPU performance is good, their GPU lags really far behind compared to the competition.

1. They think that it's a MediaTek so it's the worst. Their latest Helio processors are impressive for mid rangers.
2. They just hate Sony for whatever they do. Their MediaTek-powered devices easily beats the crap out of Samsung's mid rangers that use SD6xx processors or even their own Exynos 7xxx mid range processors

None of the two ever topped the XA at anything. Despite the weak Helio P10, Sony made full use of it, while Xiaomi and Huawei wasted their significantly more powerful processor, making them look bad in comparison. Another reference? The Xperia X with SD650 wrecked SD820-powered devices and the iPhone 6s & Exynos S7 Edge

[deleted post]Why not??? Helio p20 is a good chipset it has 8 cortex-a53 core (up to 2.3 Ghz ) with 16 nm process and Mali T880 MP2 GPU ...also support CAT 6 LTE ...

Helio p20 is comparable with SNAP 625 and exynos 7880 (A7 2017 )...

The Xperia X with SD650 wrecked the Exynos S7 Edge, HTC 10, LG G5, Huawei P9, iPhone 6s, and all major flagship phones in the month of May

Mediatek isn't all that bad, it only matters if Sony prices these phones right, since it's a MTK SoC, it should be a tad cheaper than it's SD625 or other counterparts. Even Samsung started to use Mediatek processors after years of using Spreadtrum in their low-mid end devices. That is if you knew it was Spreadtrum.

Mediatek helio p20 is a great chipset for low-end and mid-range phone ... Performance is comparable to QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON 625 ...
It has 8 cortex-A53 core (up to 2.3 Ghz) with 16 nm process...
