Horrible Bluetooth, Battery drain, and app crashing issues! Do not buy. Here is just one post regarding all the Bluetooth issues:

    https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/phone-by-google/-lpPfDGvkNw;context-place=forum/phone-by-google

Google will not refund my money after I purchased it directly from them a little over a month ago (with insurance). There are clearly hardware issues, but yet all you see online are glowing reviews. There should be a recall. It is not right google with all of it's power selling a crap product and probably blocking, squashing, and otherwise covering up a bad product.

I have a problem with placing a call through Bluetooth in my Nissan Altima since upgrade to 7.1.1. I have Samsung J7 with T-Mobile. When connecting there is just a static noise.

AnonD-644432, 13 Feb 2017No update will fix the OTHER Bluetooth issues that are pres... moreHi,

Google Pixel phone has serious Bluetooth incompatibility issue and the company keeps saying as long as it can connect to at least one device it is not their problem. After six months of struggling of factory resets and replacement under warranty the support team did acknowledge to me that it is a major hardware problem that it cannot communicate with other devices, especially car audio system. Nothing can be done whatsoever to fix the matter.

As part of industry standard it is common practice for Bluetooth connection to not have an issue, especially for a smartphone costing $700 plus. As a standard operating procedure, a hardware compatibility problem should have been checked before selling such defective phones. I wonder what is it that they check as part of quality assurance from Google brand.

I had been using three generations of iPhones before, a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge with my 2013 BMW 528i before switching this poorly made device. Often times, rather each time I reached out to the Project Fi support, every team member asked me to go get the car upgraded. I have had my car inspected under the four year free warranty, however now it would cost me hundreds of dollars to get another diagnosis. I recently tested iPhone 6 with iOS 11 and also iPhone 7 from a friend. This same friend told me that cars are specifically made to be compatible with iPhones on purpose or the car OS is tested for iPhones alone. That does not sound logical to me, since my car is four years old and the other newer phones can talk to it without a flaw.

It shows clearly that Google is not interested in the phone business when there are so many users complaining about one of this fundamental features of what is expected from an advanced smartphone.

I request your help in getting this word out so users stop buying a substandard device based on brand name.

I updated my Samsung Tab A 8.0 SM-T355Y using OTA (inbuilt feature in Tablet for software update) to Android 7.1.1
and now my bluetooth is turning on but not able to discover any bluetooth device. I tried with my eapice and laptop. My tablet is not discovering any of them.

The problem was resolved for me in the December update and now broke again in the February update. It connects, but when a call comes in the phone just rings and i have to use the speaker. It is definitely connected though because i use the bluetooth as a trusted device and my phone is unlocked when the car is on and it auto-connects. So.... They broke something new for me.

I have a similar issue, I finally got my Nexus 6p to pair with my Mercedes bluetooth module but as soon as it connect the cell signal drops and you can make a call even via the phone itself.

As soon as I disconnect it the signal returns, I added it as a trusted device but makes no difference. I do hope it's the bug in 7.1.1 that's doing it. I would be very sad if they don't fix this pretty quickly.

My Nexus 6P (bluetooth) also works fine with my Kenwood car stereo in 7.1.1.

In fact I've not experienced any of the battery or boot-loop problems that have been widely spoken about.

Of course I've got my fingers crossed in case. LOL
