Nougat update for G5 (H860) arrived in late dec 2016 to Sri Lanka. This featured the Dec 1 security update. Phone has been running stable with the release.
The biggest benefit i noticed is the Nougat feature for display scaling, which means we can now have smaller fonts on G5.

spottiest, 21 Jan 2017Nougat arrived bud unit not.. Hahaha! you're right! I don't think anyone really owns it, perhaps it's only sells in Mega Manila, Not even available entirely in whole island and yet not even in major cities. They are just selling it online like in facebook etc...

Samsung just needs to put their heavy DisGrace UX on top of Android 7.1.1 and make sure it's stable, and I do believe it never takes a month or two to do them. Samsung's Nougat update better be issue-free considering how long they took before releasing it. Sony has released the update 2 months before Samsung already did, and Sony's Nougat OS never had any major problems, and the halting of the Z5 seried and Z3+ Nougat update is actually Sony's strategy of being in synchronized with the competitors (barely anyone has ever updated their major flagship phones while Sony is almost done with the update system, only the XA and other mid range phones left, and maybe even the lowest end phones). In terms of updates, other than Google, Sony is the Apple of Android system updates and support

For everyone complaining about how samsung hasn't updated everywhere yet I sure see a lot of other phones only now getting it.
Maybe people need to get on with their lives and wait for good stable updates rather than whining about who has it
