Every year Qualcomm and Mediatek say new SoCs spend less energy.
We do not see that.
SD801 manages better than 805, 808, 810,820 or 821.

AnonD-521036, 09 Feb 2017About bezels (in my opinion) if it has dual stereo speakers... moreThe bezel space for it dual speakers is a great solution for waterproofing and still have louder front facing audio compare to the iphone7 and Samsung S7 speakers because their speaker is place at the bottom of the phone. Since iphone 7 and Samsung S7 is join the water party, they will lose more on the audio quality and sound volume because the speaker is design at a wrong direction.

And honestly, if you want a phone for custom roms, the Nexus (or Pixels) are made for developers. They have tons of custom roms.
I believe there is a phone for everyone -- even for those who want to play some casual games on their phones. While Snapdragon HIGH-END chips like the SD821/835 can help you satisfy your gaming need (for the time being), Mediatek powered devices are mostly made for people having trouble accessing latest devices. They're cheap and the users don't mostly care about performance I'm sure.

[deleted post]The tiny bezel is worse for holding in landscape mode, one solution is you can buy a flip case to protect it and this will GAIN the smartphone SIZE overall, so why should we need the tiny bezel/bezelless? Since we already know the flip case will gain the smartphone size. The smart fans really enlarge the bezel size with a whole flip case, hehe.... Maybe is the more reason the smartphone is ugly/slippery to show people/afraid high risk drop damage, that's why they have to cover their smartphone with flip case to protect it.

First thing I'd do is flash a new ROM rater than be subjected to the torture of using Sony's, not an option on this phone.
