20 February 2017
The two pictures of the upcoming tablet seem to show a device sporting a 'glass sandwich' design.

So yes Samsung has a history oF suppressing good tablet development and should be called out for that. BTW 2015 had Sony's Z4 which was using top soc, better aspect ration, PPI and battery all for less weight.

But what I meant was the S2 was still the successor of Tab S and not a downgrade like downgrading from Tab S to Tab A. If he wanted the best tablet from Samsung in 2015, it had to be the S2.

Tab S3 would probably be an upgrade to S2 (depending on the battery life in fact), but it still uses a bad aspect ratio that basically makes it a no go for media watchers.

I call it the iPad disease, where they think that being able to use a device is portrait mode also means that we have to kill it's media watching ability, forgetting that ipads were made in an era where websites would actually benefit from 4:3 and mobile media watching was not yet big (another decade basically).

Finally they spice up the design. The Tab S and Tab S2 looked like tablets from 2013-2014.

And how do you expect rumours of the Tab S4, when the Tab S3 isn't yet released either? :P

Irrespective of the specs or the material used in the Tab S3, it's uninspiring design looks like it was borrowed from 2014.

I used Tab S2 8 inch for quite some time, 2 years I think and the performance never degrade whatsoever..

Though I have an Ipad , I definitely will get the Tab S3 for the sake of Android Tablet Ecosystem, made by a reliable manufacturer...it will be very convenient for the business purpose, easy to share file, and capable of using it with mouse and whatnot. Aside for the usage of laptop, the Android is an alternative way to conduct business.

Yet, with the dominance of the Ipad, might wanna feel bit inferior when everyone in the meeting room held the ipad, while someone, Android Tablet. Samsung tries to remove that perception while other manufacturer failed to do so.

So, give it a go then.

                            All glass. Total no go

Until this glass sandwich reveal I was 90% sure I'd buy this tablet, now I'm down to 50%, only driven by the absolute NEED for a tablet upgrade. I guess Samsung is betting big on protective casing sales?

Having glass on such a big device is a nightmare but then again i have this big chopping board that seem to be made of glass that doesn't break no matter how i high i drop it. Why can't they put it on the phone? :P

This will break to pieces when slipped out of hands.
