i used to be fan of sony xperia phones, i owned 4 devices before.. the small xperia versions are my favorite!.. but i grown tired of their hardware quality..
their screens technology is so bad compared to amoled.. and more greenish!
even worse, there is somesort of "ghosting" when scrolling fast in pages.. it's just boring looking at their screen quality once you try an iphone or own any phone uses super amoled!
most of my sony devices screens are super easy to break even from light falls!
this is something i never enountered on other phone manufactures!!! all my current xperia phones are broken! i owned other phones and now google pixel now, most of them survived multiple falls, some are hard!..
software updates? forget it.. the system is not even trying checking up any updates after certain period of time.. you only get 2-3 phone patched.. later on a major update then it's over..
their battery life sucks.. i know they improved it in latest devices and there is so good a battery saver mode.. still.. it falls shorter compared to other modern high-end phones.

Front stereo speakers produce vibration and then theres magnetic parts in speakers.
Both of which can affect your screen.
So its on the practical durability design why speakers should NOT be too close to screen.
Thus better to have some bezel meat, than as little as possible.
I suspect those bezel less phones to have serious screen problems over some time due to proximity of the magnetic and vibrational effect of speaker.

Expect 40hr tops of battery endurance, 20hr with always on feature...
Same goes for upcoming S8....maybe 50hr due to exynos and its amoled, 30hr with always on feature.
But as long as people are going "crazy" over those tiny miny bezels looks....who cares about design shortcomings right?

So it confirm that last update is fake! Sad, I really love that one.
Why they all look same? Like hamster, chick, or cola bottle lol If you dont read the article and just focus on picture, I bet you will confuse where is the XZ successor. People head "I dont want to buy phone with price USD 700 while it look same with her sibling with price just USD200-300".

The Xperia's audio quality is the best I ever heard, it remind me the Walkman is always in our heart and the true bass beat in with deep inside. The Xperia is evolving to have the best music UI base on Android system, this is the best one I recommend!

But Apple put large h... moreWhen I look at the iphone 7 plus's bezel, the top and the bottom bezels are ridiculous big even the curved corners doesn't help it much more on the looking. The rounded fingerprints button took a big place at the bottom leave the left and right clean and the top bezel are earpiece and proximity sensor just looking so blank.
The Xperia XZ come with the front dual speakers and NFC and 13MP front camera at the bezels and built-in the laser-AF and RGB-C sensor, so it must be fine too. Don't forget the loop surface designs, the curve frame is cover from the side/edge making the whole phone exquisite/refined and it is also look like an abstraction/imagine to the Romanesque architect designs (frp column: Base/shaft/Capital) just looking from front of the phone.
IPhone 7/7plus still the same old designs, sheeps maker.

i think that the second one at the left side is a xz compact, because sony usually put the camera sensors and the led flashlight beside each other only with their compact series.
