There's potential for the 18:9 on a smartphone. It's good they conducted experiments and surveys for the smartphone, though not sure how reliable to are.
They should increase the capability of the multiwindow. Like since we consumers prefer using the smartphone one-handed and the aspect ratio of the screen is 2:1, they should enable a thumb gesture on the lower half of the screen to either:
- swap the positions of the windows, so that you can one-handedly navigate both windows or
- lower the navigation keys of the top window within reach.

I strongly feel this phone should be having the 4500mAh juice pack of the LG Power2 in order to sway a lot of minds given the lack of the new gen 2017 SD835. Yes it is a new design with a big 5.7" screen..there will be many other 5.7" screen phones and LG needed something to really set it apart, a beefy battery would've been a good place to start. Still a very nice looking device and gives me much to think about.. G6, S8+, V30, Note 8, HTC Vive/11, One plus 5, Pixel XL2 plus a few more surprises to come. How long the wait to decide on my 2017 phone???

Fit in your pocket or... morei would agree that more battery capacity is better, but you can't just read number and say what is better from it...just to give you example, take a 4100mAh Xiaomi device and a 3000mAh SGS 7 and you will se that battery life is not depending only to those numbers..i guess you understad it, since you did wrote SD821 next to battery life to clearify it, but i just wanted to make that clear off.
and, here are my 5 cents on LG's predicted battery life: since it does have bigger screen, it will use more juice, but i expect that it will be same as S7's 3000mAh and S7 Edge's 3600mAh.
S8's rumors says that it will come with 3000mAh,and with same screen size, and that 300mAh more that G6 offers shoud be decent replacement for SoC uses (since it's not biggest consumer anyway).
so, yes...more would be nice, but this will hold a day (which G5 couldn't) and quick charge will help make us less addicted to charger.

I just watched the event till the end, and i really like the G6.
I like their UX they make the aspect ratio usefull and the Univissium aspect ratio as well, like the Ice Platinum color, like Qualcomm's optical zoom tech, like the HDR10 and Dolby Vision supported on this phone.
And the most importantly is 5.7" screen in 5.2" Smartphone body ( the big bezels Xperia XZ as example)

Initially V Series wasn't heading for flagship status cuz it would compete with itself (g series). So in other words first time their flagship has my attention. But now they are also referring to the V series as their other flagship so let's see how their next one goes. So far G6 isn't bad, just worried about the software now.

gosh, so the only good part is the longer screen? ok, that'll be useful for multiwindows. but really, there is almost no new features, if at all. i hope the price is low given the dearth of new features...

Water dust shock proof
More reliable (gorilla glass 3 only i dont get it)
Things they dont want you know:
Battery life (people want at least 4000mah)
Processor chip (821... Well...battery life...)
Ram and storage (4gb is enough for now)

The worst thing about LG to me is the rubbish battery life I experienced on the LG G4 it's a shame because it was a fantastic camera but the phone just wasn't fit for purpise. Also I don't like the look of LG's icons on their phones .

For the first time other than the V10 and v20, I am looking forward to lg rather than samsung. I love sony too but they are lagging with their big bezels and could improve on camera the camera. Which I don't understand, they should be king but they are not....it's weird
