Blackberry on the other hand is providing security updates regularly every month for all of their models. Which 2 year old phone even from Samsung gets updates as soon as Google releases that. If you had invested in Priv it would still be getting updates. So the money you invested does not just go waste. Also, their phones last longer, they are just better phones, in terms of voice quality, productivity, which most of the phones fail to be. Either they get heated up soon or die due to lack of updates. It's the money hungry giants like apple, samsung who have made this a trend to change the phone every year or so. For Blackberry it's about longevity.

BB has gone crazy in pricing this one! Or they ve got. Bee in their Bonnet? I think so. Our fleecing for outdated specs and forlorn hardware!

Keyboard makes this device extra large. The keyboard should have been made of sliding type and pop out of body when required. Otherwise very few people will prefer physical keyboard , considering the extra bulk.

This will be an imported device, so NOT made in India, which means a lot of the price tag is taxes and import fees. BlackBerry signed a deal with an Indian company last month and when they release a device in India, the price will be much more reasonable.
With all that said, this is an expensive device and the price should be lower. But I doubt they had hopes of selling lots of them in India anyway.

Maximum price should be 30k for this smartphone. Don't compare with Xiaomi. It's a premium brand like Samsung, Sony, apple, LG etc.

This will be troublesome for BlackBerry, since the phone should've been embargo-ed in India! TCL owns the rights to sell the phone under BlackBerry name outside throughout India and neighboring markets, including Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh (the rights goes to Optiemus), and don't forget Indonesia (this will be PT BB Merah Putih jurisdiction). So, the phone probably an imported one, not official.

Galaxy S7 and iPhone 6s available in similar price. I doubt people will choose blackberry over these phones if they had ₹40,000.
Phone is great no doubt but 40,000 is flagship range in India.
Moto Z Play is 25,000 with same chipset. Redmi Note 4 is 12999 for 64gig variant.
I know it's "Blackberry" but price is not justifiable.
