Among those Chinese manufacturer, only Huawei is the most 'trusted'than a bunch of LeEco,Leagoo and some of the most nonsensical products from these small and suspicious Chinese manufacturer.

Chinese government should stop a production of this kind of manufacturers to stop tainting the image of Chinese products.

Sony in here is making a two steps backward, if this new Xperia L1 is overpriced. It will be reasonable if it is to be sold for a targeted market in Asia albeit have to selling it for a "midrange phone's price" because of currency fluctuations and local taxes varied.

In USA and Canada the Chinese companies are almost non-existent, in Europe are still under the well-known brands.

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2017Sony's cells = Quality, performance and durability!! None of those three things, actually. It would be a nice combination, but Sony's not up for that challenge.

techperson211, 21 Mar 2017Yup. I stop supporting chinese brand phone. And you chose the right year to do so. Now that western brands are entering new lows in software support and hardware offering. They are outright offering last year's hardware in their flagships these days, and some people *still* fall for it. Incredible how easily it is to satisfy some people.

BTW I would very much like to support brands like Sony too. But they have to clean up their act. They used to be innovative like they were with Xperia Z/ZL release. It's 4 years since and every year they're less innovative than then... I mean one was the first trully waterproof *flagship* (almost everything was maxed on the phone) and the other was the first bezeless flagship in the west. Both released at the same time! What happened to that Sony? Being innovative for its time? If you're to buy something, buy that Sony, if not let them suffer so that they'll return to that level of competence. Don't buy any weak cr*p they release these days...

No mobile product actually gets as good software support as Xiaomi products. Xiaomi is *reknown* for that one thing. Had you talking about LeEco or similar I could kind of agreed, but Xiaomi? No android maker is *touching* them in software support, even Apple has a hard time keeping up with them. Do we live in opposite day?

Also phones like high end Huawei, Xiaomi Mi Mix (all ceramic, all screen, 18k rims) are of much higher build quality than anything that reaches the west. You are like the guy living in Soviet Union having to buy Lada (like all the time) and when asked about BMW you reply "I don't trust that western scum".

Funny thing is that back then that "western scum" had the most important, interesting, well thought, well designed, industrial produce ... and nowadays it's China. Also LeEco is of decent quality given its price, have you ever used any of its phones? It puts down all sub $200 phones

They already have a budget line, the X series. Or do they think that being on par with a 3 year old Z series makes it "retro premium" or something? lol.

The price in Sweden for this will be around 2000 SEK, not flagship price of course. But not so cheap. 2600 mAh battery in a big display are not impressive.

I can compare with a new Chinese device with same display size (5,5" inch) and same price:
Vernee Apollo X. 3500 mAh battery, MediaTek Helio X20, 4GB Ram, 64GB internal storage and you can also add a micro SD card to.

Sony is a known brand. But I think they will lose in sales if they releasing devices all the time that are underpowered in specs. This is 2017 and they still think its 2013, the competition is harder now.
