OnePlus 5 name and model number confirmed by Chinese certification

13 April 2017
OnePlus is working on the A5000, and since the OnePlus 3 was A3000 it stands to reason that the next handset will be called OnePlus 5.

Wtf number 4 myth ? Eh
And 3000mAh battery ? Oh come on

Nobody here have fear to edge screen? It's my worse fear, even worse than battery life (should be ok with 3k and new tech).

Dual edge screen is deal breaker for me.

Just to get this out there, A3010 isn't just the 3T. Both the 3 and 3T have the same numbers such as A3000, A3003 and A3010 the difference being the regions. Case in point being my North American A3000 3T.

          Thanks

Really hope they're wrong about the battery capacity.

The smaller battery is justified (in their eyes presumably) by the newer more efficient processor utilizing the new 14nm technology and possibly a more efficient screen, thus using similar or less power and still getting similar or possibly better battery life per charge. I personally would prefer a 3500 mah battery but I'm sure they did that partly to decrease the slimness of the phone

The model numbers for the OnePlus devices mentioned in the article aren't exactly accurate. A3000 isn't exclusively OnePlus 3 and A3010 isn't just the 3T. Those numbers point to the regions where the devices are sold. For instance, my North American Gunmetal 3T is an A3000.

I commented on this earlier but for some reason it got deleted.

I do not believe they will reduce the battery capacity from the 3T. A reduction would make no sense, and they would be rightfully hammered for it.

I look forward to the release of this phone. June, perhaps?

the 23mpx camera, should be an ultra pixel and half the count, all the other ones have 12 to 13mpx and they are on top.
the battery should be big, 3000mha just wont cut it.
hope they ad stereo (front) speakers and sd slot.

I hope they keep a metal build on the phone and don't switch to glass

If the real thing will include all the specs, etc, mentioned in this article, and in the same time maintain an affordable price, similar to the previous ones, it will be not just a flagship killer, but a sort of a super flagship killer phone. Well, so let's hope

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2017We all know that this "5" is actually really the "4", so an... moreOnePlus 3T is really the 4.

I understand 4 being a bad luck number. Remember the Antennagate for iPhone 4? Or bootloops for the LG G4? Or how fragile the glass was on the Nexus 4? Even the fourth Star Wars entry or Indiana Jones film get ragged on.

I was born on the 4th, so numbers like 4, 13 (1+3), and 22 (2+2) are my lucky numbers especially playing roulette. Black 22 is my luckiest of them all. But using 4 isn't that bad. The iPhone 4s was good. The Note 4 was the last great Samsung with removable battery. The S4 sold the most ever for the S line.

I get why Asians think of the #4 as death. Even my high-rise condominium skipped floor #4 and #13. When it comes to phones, my lucky numbers are actually #3 and #5. Usually products and even relationships or high school (junior year) get sorted out or refined by the third season. The first two years are rocky.

Surprisingly, the #7 isn't so lucky for me. Note7 (technically Note6) flamed out like the fires of hell. And my HTC One M7 and S7 edge might be beautiful to look at, but usability is poor. Waiting on the Pixel 3. HTC might mess up again this year by removing the headphone jack like the iPhone 7 did. Lucky #7 isn't always so lucky.

I love 3t because it has (almost) no gimmicks. 6gb ram is ok, because I can ignore it if I want but not that dual curved design. They'll pretty much lose the reason of existing of they add it.
