I dont like Iphone but i liked their pictures better. HDR seems to be really working. White is better too

The iPhone 7 plus also capture the sky with over algorithm effect, the blue sky doesn't retain the realistic blue and the blue sky should not be the deeper blue, it is only happened editing in Photoshop software. IPhone 7 plus just simply algorithm the color to unnatural colors to satisfactory people, but lost the realistic!!!!!

In the past, they don't care about optimizing the software for the camera, so it was not on par with their competitors. Now that Sony has done better with optimizing their algorithm for the Xz premium, they have surpassed their competitors this time.

Sony only better at pic detail. Other than that, I feel bad.. Yes Sony's cam sensor is well known, but what makes their phone produce a pic that couldn't keep up with Samsung/Pixel/Apple is their poor software optimization in it. Come on Sony, you're not even try pffftt

But one thing I must let you know XZP capture more detail than iphone, if you don't believe please check the 1st and 2nd image taken by XZP and iPhone, the deck of the ship is very detail capture by XZP, while the iPhone capture the blur deck of the ship. The color temperature is XZP better than iphone, because the ship's color is royal blue not yellowish blue.

People just want to take an image and publish it on their timeline as fast as they can...or are you really going to use a phone's camera for any serious professional photography work?

If a better image is one taken by Samsung galaxy s8 you need to check that.
By photography standards dull photos are much easier to work on.

Back a few years Sony and other OM... moreI guess for people without knowledge on photography XZ takes better photos because of the more pleasing results. But for people with knowledge on photography truer to life photos will be always better. Simply because we get the freedom to work on them.

The XZ premium is better at handling light and color accuracy but bad at shadows. iPhone 7 Plus is better with shadows and more detailed but bad at color accuracy.

[deleted post]He means that Sony should use its expertise in honing it's smartphone photography and not using dslr hardware in a phone. Apparently it's very difficult to read and understand than blurt something out of the mouth these days.

Nzi97, 02 May 2017from my opinion, sony a lot detail but a tiny bit oversharp... moreBecause HDR photo is detected, if the setting is alright so HDR photo shouldn't be a problem to every flagship.
BTW, you can see the 1st image taken by XZP the rock below the dock is true to real life, while the 2nd image taken by iphone only show the rock is flat and pale. Conclusion, Sony use the IMX400 sensor with stacked Dram to reduce any distortion and make it ( the rock below the dock) even realistic, the iphone just fail to delivery a true to real life photo experience and the iphone colors reproduction is washed out and incorrect.

I'm LG G4 user for 2 years, but there is one better looking photos in this comparison - it's iphone, in some photos XZP has very limited dynamic range and few photos has weird colors (greenish)
