I will also bet my money to Sony Ericsson,, as their products are all good quality, but products are still over priced compared to their competitors, if they will make models to compete in entry level samsung corby champ for students to afford,, still Pro Sony here..

SE phones are overpriced in 2010, maybe thats why they grossed 21 mil in 2010. The xperia X10 was soo overpriced for an android 1.6 model -- it cost about the same as a Samsung galaxy S which sports android 2.1 at the time!!!

However, I am ear-marking some of my cash for the Neo. So I guess, even without looking at the figures, that SE will have good sales in 2011..

Just so sad that Nokia is not on Android.. why o why?

I love SE, and in future too, I always gonna stuck with this brand. So, these financial results and all never gonna hurt the crazy SE lovers.

...the phones are still overpriced, especially barring in mind SE poor customer support. I have had SE smartphone before but never again. They are nicely designed (thumbs up for designers) phones but always have a few major flaw (small memory and rom size, battery, always last with software updates and hardware updates and unrealistic price).

AnonD-151, 19 Apr 2011There phones are a little to overpriced but after some time... morei have always hated SE due to their proprietary phones in the past, their charges/headsets/data cables and memory cards are always different from the rest which put their users on an island by them selves which i think is the end result of this 5% market share them talking about...is a good them the MicroUSB port is now becoming standard.

When I use SE's older phones like W550i, K750i, W810i etc I feel right at home even now.... Will never get bored of the look and feel.... Awesome feel.... Even when other brands had stereo speakers and even four now!!! SE was cool, clear and the best with single speaker (leave W550i since it had awesome dual speakers). Wish they could remodel W550i.... Ill be the first one to buy....

THey worked pretty hard to refine the details that matter the most for user to use the phone and OS.

Over the years, every time I use another brand or OS I go back and kiss Sony Ericsson that even after years still give me an ultimate pleasure to use the out-dated device with a dead OS. Can I can see the details they had and how they made users swim through whatever they want to do compare to many other OSes of today.

Still I love SE and I think that with Arc,Play and Neo the company will be on top :) (Not including what will hapend when SGS II and Sensation arrives...)

This is above my expectations, i thought they're gonna have a red zone quarter since their last high end product was the vivaz, X10 is old and with ruined reputation, X8 is stuck with android 2.1 and not so profitable with it's cheap price, and the X10 mini is a niche phone.
But those bumps are behind now with upcoming arc, play, neo(the bestselling android contender on the market imo), pro, xperia mini and mini pro, and possibly the flagship for the fall(duo)..SE didn't looked this promising since 2007! :)

I think Xperia Play will have a role in changing perception about Sony Ericsson. As an iPhone fan myself, this has to be the only news on the smartphone gaming front other than iPhone, that actually has me excited.

I have been waiting to trade in my Blackberry 9700 or another phone, and depending on the games available, would love to have an Xperia Play as my second phone. iPhone 4 and Xperia Play, wow, awesome combo and the best of both worlds in my opinion.
