Replace metal and glass with plastic and you'll have a slightly improved S5. They changed the material not the design language. And S6 in person is not that good looking imo.

That's one of the biggest change in the smartphone market in just one year, from one of the most ugliest phone to one of the most beautiful phone. It just proves that you're a Sony fanboy and i think Sony fanboys are the worst IMO. They are just like a cult.

No one is saying Samsung was the first to introduce curved back. He is only saying the curved back made its first appearance in S7, which was only released last year. So how can you say that the S series has always had a curved back?

Sonu4678, 21 Jun 2017So you don't see design change between S7 and S8, S5 and S6... morenope , almost every Samsung galaxy is the same , there are slight refinements on flagships but midranges are all the same ... different build materials don't make different design , have you actually looked at the screenshots I provided on the links ? https://prnt.sc/fm890o , https://prnt.sc/fm89d2 isn't this exactly the same design for five generations ? only someone blind and biased would say otherwise .

as for the LG and HTC well , haven't you read these lines ?

'' LG have done some experimenting with the G5 and failed miserably and just adding dual camera isn't change in design language overall , HTC is changed but for the worse , now is mostly just galaxy knockoff LOL ''

xperia looks maybe same to you because unlike others out there it's design is unique and can be easily be differentiated from the rest . and same as others SONY only refined their design once a year > ( Z1 and Z2 ) > (Z3 and Z3+ ) > ( Z5 , Z5P and X , X Perf. ) > (XZ and XZs,XZP ) ... I would expect next refinement with next generation at IFA . they could abandon sharp corners but then it wouldn't be unique as it is now , although on positive side bezels would appear to be smaller ...
...but I think there is a lot of phones to choose from when it comes to rounded corners , on the other hand there is barely any with sharp corners , why is having something different on the market so bad ?

AnonD-404798, 21 Jun 2017'' Look at every other brand out there, they completely red... moreSo you don't see design change between S7 and S8, S5 and S6, LG's every phone has been with different design lately, HTC 10 & U11. Man, open your eyes or maybe use glasses. S3, S4 & S5 have different designs too. One is pure plastic, 2nd uses faux leather and 3rd one is famous for its band aid look. I'm talking about design here and that doesn't mean only looks. And yeah, xperia phones look all the same.
No one is talking about major overhaul, Sony should just differentiate enough to keep it interesting.
