I don't see how a phone can be consistently ranked the best but lags in normal use and beaten in speed tests by phones half the price.
My moto x was lag free and that's a 2013 upper mid ranger.

I really wanted to buy an S8, i was in a store in germany and tried it out and i too experienced some lag and minor stutters and i thought ffs samsung, you have the SD835, 4gigs of Ram and freaking ufs 2.1 how can you even manage to make this monster lag. it's beyond me at this point, i will stay with my oneplus 3 for a little while longer though i really love the design of the s8 and the op3 camera is not good enough for me, maybe i try the xz premium because the op3 is basically just a op3 with an sd835 ... damn it samsung get your shite together man, even a midrange huawei runs smoother or my sisters nexus 5 which i gave her dang it

The old Xperia Z2 will smash the S8/S8+ in terms of UI fluidity alone. It may be a lot slower, but is saved by how amazingly smooth it performs.
Heck, even Chinese OEMs do better job at optimizing their software than Samsung. I don't like Oppo but their optimization, while not the best and no match for Sony, is still superior to what Samsung has - that's how far behind Samsung really is.
People only see the brand name. They only smell a food and think it's already good, without even knowing how they taste.
They forget that first impression is a lot different from actual usage.
I'd rather have a stinky smelling food but tastes great than a soothing fragrance but tastes like poop when being eaten.

Samsung always lags, despite whatever processor. They attract people with bold moves.. like giant small bezel screens.. but in the end when it comes to user experience and usage, it has much to learn from Sony.

I own a Galaxy S8, and bixby button is the single most hated feature on the device. I just wish bixby and this button did not exist. I've accidentally pressed this button too many times, confusing it for power or volume buttons. And if you press it while your screen is on - LAG TIME, baby.

Xperia Z was nearly lag-free already in the UI even with such a mediocre by today's standards processor.
SD835, 4GB RAM, UFS 2.0, and costs $800. Lags shouldn't be a thing to notice when operating the UI.
Sorry Samsung, it's 2017 now.
You look like a modern phone but performs older than what we would've thought you would be.
Not a Apple fan, but I'd rather have modern performance with looks of the past instead of attractive terrible performer.
And no hatees please, I don't hate Samsung, I just said what I have experienced.
My friend has the 2015 Galaxy J5 and the only thing that makes it better than my Zenfone Max is the display, but the rest, my phone is superior.

Well said phone arena, as a Samsung loyalist I really don't get the point why we can't remap the extra key on the phone! I get that Samsung is trying to push it's virtual assistant, but then again it's not consumer oriented strategy which can irritate some Samsung customers!
I have a S8+ and I love it! it's just the app menu lag and some other minor issues needs to be fixed!
