02 May, 2011
Nokia N8 is already available in five distinct hues - orange, blue, green, silver white and dark grey. It seems the variety wasn't enough so today Nokia launches a pink N8. Is that Symbian Anna running...

Hey guys, if I'm going to buy a Nokia N8 next year March 2012 does the color Pink one remains the only one who gets Symbian Anna straight out of the box or the other colors will also shipped with Symbian Anna aside from the pink since it's 2012 already(it's because i like the Silver or Blue but Symbian Anna is not available straight from the moment of purchase, upgrading is a bit hassle to me..haha)? o.O
I'll wait for your replies.. thanks.. ^_^ God-bless

I never said my brother has an N8. I said he has a C7 and it has USB OTG too, so my example is still correct.

Anonymous, 05 May 2011LOL far from it my friend. USB OTG is as useless as any Nok... moreAnd I never thought of N8 as my phone either; too expensive for me. I don't have enough money for Galaxy S or SL either. In my COUNTRY, S is 580$, SL is 525$ and N8 is 500$. I can spend 400$ max. and with this money the best phone that I can think of is C7 that costs 375$, again in my COUNTRY. The only other option is Galaxy Ace, which costs about the same, but lacks many features compared to C7.

Saying that all nokia phones are useless is just not right and you know it.

How my brother is supposed to keep 80-90 GB of pictures, videos and music in his phone?

Go back and read my posts and you can see that I never mentioned such a thing. I never wanted to justify anything, just saying that both in my country and US, galaxy S is more expensive than N8.

No, he uses it at home, and thanks to OTG he does not need to power up his notebook just to be able to copy a few files between his phone and the HDD.

Yes, I have my opinion and you have yours, but it won't change the fact that N8 has more features and Galaxy S has a better screen. CPU and RAM can't be compared directly while talking about different OSes.

I don't even think of the SGS II as my next potential phone. I'd rather wait for the Optimus 3D or Evo 3D GSM variant. I've had the original SGS and while it was a solid performer it just wasn't right for me. It felt so light weight in my hands that it felt like i wasn't holding anything. So is that all you can say now? That i'm butt hurt? Your brother swaps files with his nokia N8 daily especially at home and he couldn't just have kept these files on the phone already when the phone itself has a large flash based memory inside already?

Is this the only situation you can thibk of? No, he uses it at home, and thanks to OTG he does not need to power up his notebook just to be able to copy a few files between his phone and the HDD.

"Like I said, there's many ways I can refute your "uses" for USB otg. Its a novelty for geeks and that's it nothing else."

You are just butt hurt that your beloved android does not have it. I'm sure if you had a galaxy S II, you would have bragged about its USB OTG feature all day long.

AnonD-1393, 04 May 2011I mentioned in my second post that I meant in my COUNTRY, n... moreYet you used inflated Amazon USA pricing to try and justify your point when your pricing for Amazon USA was off? I don't know what country you're from but even in the UK the Galaxy S cost 346 british pounds and the Nokia N8 cost 339 British pounds. Not much difference in price yet the Galaxy S is more powerful, larger screen, OS has more apps available, better screen, better browser.

You say my statements about USB OTG is merely opinion, yet couldn't the same be said of your statement for USB OTG? You used it as a leverage mechanism to justify why the N8 is better, that is merely opinion. Your brother carries around an external HDD? What kind of external HDD runs merely on one USB cable for power? Even 2.0" external USB HDD requires a second USB cable for power, so your brother is carrying around his N8, the cable for USB OTG, his external HDD, his USB cable for his external HDD, and a power adapter for his external HDD? Like I said, wouldn't a laptop be more convenient?

Your rant about USB OTG is just your opinion.
You don't like it, fine, but there are people who do use it on a daily basis. My brother connects his external HDD to his C7 directly. He does not need his notebook for this purpose anymore.

I admit that I didn't know about Galaxy S' Micro USB to HDMI capability, and I was wrong about them adding it later; there.
