Amoled FHD screen compared to IPS LCD FHD
power efficient processor 14nm SD625 compared to 28 nm SD SD430
5000 mAh battery compared to 4100 mAh battery.
It also have fast charging with several reviewer points out it fully charge in around 2 hour compared to 4 hour at least on asus.
Not counting the Amoled,14nm, and 5000 mAh effect on battery life compared to LCD, 28nm, and 4100 mAh (p2 is the reigning battery life champ here).
the comparison could goes on and on as you compared overpriced low/entry smartphone to a mid ranger.
But again in rupiah p2 is at 4.5 million and Zenphone 3 max is at 3 million.
Alternatively you could spend 2 million something at Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and get better phone than zenphone 3 max.

A 3000mAh SD625-powered 720p smartphone still won't beat a 5000mAh SD625-powered 720p smartphone, given they're the same exact model except for battery size and processor differences.

That's very poor design, putting such a monster battery into a puny phone that's as slow as a slug on crutches. The should be using Snapdragon 660, at least.

I have ZenFone 3 max whose battery is supposed to be 4100mah but I used to charge 2 times a day so I don't believe in numbers anymore I regret buying the 3max because of its battery.

Dear manufacturers,
We would like our batteries to be as large capacity as 5000 mAh, now that you took away removable batteries in high end products to cater the masses who think thin is good. I would not mind battery capacity to be as large as 10,000 mAh so that you don't make us come to you to replace a measly sealed battery once 300-500 charging cycles are up, just like how Apple was doing to milk its customers.
We also know about how you are sneakily making us kill the battery faster by making fast charging as innovative. Or that fact that you are also cashing in with wireless (NOT!) charging, adding more heat to the charging process, again killing the battery faster so you have us buying next year's new smartphones.

the very big battery without very fast charge is useless. albeit 5000 is not such huge!!! there are a lot of options with 4000 mah battery like redmis.
