Anonymous, 02 Aug 2017i never denied that phones replace handheld consoles though... moreI constantly was talking about PSP and PS1 from the beginning. Even my first comment is about them.I also mentioned the "handheld" or "portable" words in almost all of my comments. I also said that phones are portable consoles. You couldn't understand it. It's not my problem that you have poor reading comprehension. So you started diverting the topic.

I'm just saying the obvious facts which you don't understand.

And yes, the only advantage of Xbox One and PS4 is the processing power.

But you never clearly stated that you were on about handheld and old consoles aside from one obvious comment and using examples but you were still referring consoles as a whole range and not specifics.

And now you're just resulting to insults, huh, maybe you're not as mature as I had thought.
Maybe you should go back and learn to write properly to make yourself more clear

and if you think that the only advantages of xbox one and ps4 is processing power then you're laughably delusional. You need to read my comment again where I stated many advantages of it.

You have poor reading comprehension. Go back to school and read again my comments. I was talking about handheld consoles like PSP and old consoles like PS1. Do you even know the difference? The only advantage of Xbox One and PS4 is that they have more processing power so there is no emulator of them.

graphics, fps, the simple immersive experience, online gameplay, streaming, sound, choice of games (tell me when you can play Skyrim or Battlefield on mobile in all it's glory)
if a phone does replace console then why did xbox release their new xbox one or sony w ps4 pro? thought they were getting replaced.
          makes total sense -___-
shouldn't major game developers be concentrating on games for mobile rather than console? and how many people do you see rocking a physical controller attached to their phones lmao. anyone who does have that would more than likely own a console too.
phones can only replace outdated psp, ps vita and other outdated HANDHELD consoles for gaming but most definitely not a regular console. that's ludicrous.
          Am I wrong.

I'm not talking about your random "stats". You still couldn't refute that the actual stats prove that a lot of people play heavy games on their phones.

A phone already replaced consoles long ago. Touchscreen controls are good, except if the game controls have different design than buttons (for example mobile GTA has controls that resembles buttons/controller so it is good and easy, conversely the mobile Luxor has crap touchscreen controls, no buttons. The PSP games use virtual onscreen buttons so the PSP Luxor is much better than the dedicated mobile version). And it's easy to play games with virtual buttons.

It also proves your incompetence that you forget about the fact that you can connect a physical controller to the phones.

That stat was made up to give an example, it obviously wasn't accurate, a fool could tell that. I guess I should've increased it to 1in1000000 but the whole point was that not many people actually use their phone for heavy gaming like you would.
and I never said you said that I said "its LIKE" as in a simile, another comparison. A phone will never replace a console. Touchscreen cant beat a physical controller, esp for the games you mentioned and most definitely fps games.
read it properly before saying something stupid again.

The stats contradict you. The stats show that a lot of people play with heavy games like FPS shooters, racers. They're very popular.

"yh but no, that's like saying a phone can replace a computer."

I never said that it can completely replace a computer (it will never can). But yes, a phone is a portable PC. A phone can replace a computer but only partly, not completely. In the other hand, phones completely replace the other devices like dedicated GPS, camera, handheld console.

"It's pointless to buy a console when the phone replaces it." - yh but no, that's like saying a phone can replace a computer. it's absurd, a phone can't beat a console for gaming overall, only the portability aspect of it.

Quite impressive figures. Much better, so chip makers (Qualcomm's SD, Sammy's Exynos, MTK, etc) will be even more encouraged to produce even more better GPU's (CPU'S in general) and for even much more graphic demanding games.

nik.007, 24 Jul 2017Just like no one has enough time to read your full comment,... moreNo, you are wrong. A mobile gamer is like a PSP gamer or other handheld console gamer. There is a reason why handheld consoles exist. A smartphone is also a portable console.

The best thing that happened to Android is that GTA and other PC games have been ported to it. The other best thing is that PSP and PS1 emulators exist for Android and phones have enough computing power to run them. So in other words, a smartphone not only replaces a camera, a dedicated GPS but it also replaces a handheld console.

You know what is stupid? It's stupid to for a mobile gamer to waste his phone hardware on boring, simple 2D games.
