Google Allo finally has a web client, only pairs with Android phones at the moment

Sucks that you can't just log in with handle and password.
anyways, the bew Skyoe Beta is where it's at. They got everything on it except for SMS or MMS suport. You can chat with some one and then send them a snapchat style video just by swiping to the left. It's default send button is replaced by a mic for walkie talkie style messaging and if yoy were to type, a send button wuld appear of course. And best of all, you can access web.skype.com Skype also lets you sebd locations and many ither things Telegram, Whatsapp, etc, vut skype is far beyond its time with snap chat stiries style profiles too. Its in one and gesture friendly, swiping down closes the chat. I dont know manybpeople who use it, but with the 7 friends I have on skype, I'm fine with it on my Android homescreen. I recommend it!

The problem is, it doesn't nearly compete with other platforms such as Telegram, and until they improve it and install it by default no one is going to switch.

sticking to telegram!
(even Facebook messanger is better in that aspect, sic!)

Allo is just so useless....
It makes no sense at all, it lacks basic features and it seems forgotten by everyone, including Google.
Apple has iMessage. Google has nothing.
