Purported leak reveals Snapdragon 836 SoC and Android 8.0 Oreo for Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

I see an intense battle between the two Chinese heavy weights...Xiaomi with the Mi Mix 2 and Huawei with the Mate 10. I like some of the rumored specs and design but i won't be so into it when one or both show up with the narrow elongated 18:9AR screens. I have some hope for the Mate 10 cuz rumor has at least one of the variants with the 16:9AR screen with a huge battery as well.
Not long now we will all find out about both devices (Mate 10 n Mi Mix 2), with the Pixel 2XL yet to come (guess it will be akin to the LG V30).

xvi, 04 Sep 2017Terrible aspect ratio, they should have stuck with the mana... moreThe first Mi Mix was already 17:9. You could say LG/Samsung copied Xiaomi longer aspect ratio. Though I agree I prefer just a standard aspect ratio. Make a bezelless 16:9 with enough space to not have to chop off a conventional speaker grill and I'm game.

Ratio of 9:18.5
...I mean what a useless ratio.
It makes the phone less wide hence smaller. If I wanted a small phone i wouldnt had bought a Mix
It always spites me when companies have the right idea (usefull aspect ratio) and then take it back so that to follow the herd.
It happened with infinite autonomy (the holy grail of portability) w LG killing it this year.
It happened 2 years ago with IR too.
The world of phones is 2 steps forwards and 3 backwards, or sometimes 3 forwards and 1 back...

Terrible aspect ratio, they should have stuck with the manageable 17:9. Why copy the worst thing about current samsung phones when they were the market pioneer? I guess the marketing numbers look better for taller aspects...

AnonD-694796, 02 Sep 2017So awfully fake, GSMarena should be ashamed of posting it.They'we got away with much worse articles...
Remember the first iphone(2017en) rumors/renders,or more recently the hype they created saying that Sharp Aquos S2 has an QHD screen(while everybody on the net got the true 1080p from the presentation)?

I seriously do hope these pictures are fake.
The Mi Mix 1 was awesome: best bezel-less display so far, huge battery, great all ceramics body designed by Philippe Starck... the only downside was the crappy OmniVision camera (and perhaps the position of the selfie cam, but as I don't care for selfies, it never bothered me.)
So pretty much all they have to do for the Mi Mix 2 is:
- Must: put in a *great* camera, ideally like the one in the U11, or even a f/1.6 one as in the V30.
- Good idea: better selfie cam location, perhaps upper left corner, so those who like selfies won't complain
- also, updating the cpu to SD 835 would be good.
That's it already.
However, if those leaked photos are true, that would be most disturbing:
- horrible, fragile and useless edge as in the S8 - EPIC FAIL
- horrible 18.5:9 ratio making handling a pain in the a$$ - EPIC FAIL
We neither need nor want this crap.

Snapdragon 836 does exist as it was possibly rumoured to be in Galaxy Note 8 in the earlier days.

Okay, there is so much to say regarding if it is true or not, the timing and so on. But, what is absolutely sure is, that hopefully all these rumors, leaks, etc., will finally turn out to be all true (it will be great). Needless to say, that really looking forward for the Mi Mix 2.
