As usual with new features, not everyone with one of those phones is seeing this yet.

There is limits human I can see in resolution details. 1080p is max you can see on your tiny screen. Everything above your eye will just not going to be able to distinguish. Manufacturer need to improve somehow something to justify new purchase and impudent people like you will go for any trick they spit on you to blindly accept it. Only matter to increase resolution is when you use VR cause it's magnifies screen, enough, shut up and don't comment stupidly anymore

So basically those are the only phones worth buying. My top choice would be the XZP because it's the only one actually having a 4K screen.
By the way, for those saying it's just a gimmick: don't be jealous, in the future all phones will have 4K displays. Just remember Sony was first and second to have a 4K phone with HDR display.
If you couldn't tell the difference, then brands wouldn't pump so much cash and content in it. It's that simple.
Either upgrade your phone, either shut up and stop embarrassing yourself. Welcome to the future grandpas!

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2017But you cannot watch it 4K, only QHD because of screen. I can watch 2160p videos on my old s6, it's a build prop edit which tricks YouTube into thinking the screen is 4k resolution. So even if the screen isn't true 4k, just like the s6 can record 4k it can also play it

Human eye can't distinguish density above 300-350dpi so mobiles should really not have screens in higher resolution than 1080p anyway.

Sony Fanboy Bitches, 08 Sep 2017But the higher pixel density of the XZ Premium's screen wou... moreAnd what is the point from 2k and 4k rez screen on this size you not going to see single difference, completely gimmicks to have 4k screen on not even 6ich devize

It works in UK on my s8, I don't really get this HDR gimmicks, it just punchy colours with high contrast, I had this experience for long time with my galaxy S amoled screens. Don't get upset if your phone doesn't support it is absolutely gimmicks

ithehappy, 09 Sep 2017Not interested about these HDR stuffs in the slightest but ... moreThere is no HDR for pixel. Probably a mistake in the article and meant pixel 2. Works on my S8+ but its a bit glitchy for me for now with some weird lag and glitch from time to time and its not as smooth for a 60fps HDR video compared to normal 60fps video. Google will probably fix it very soon

ithehappy, 09 Sep 2017Not interested about these HDR stuffs in the slightest but ... moreReally? My S7 with S8 custom rom already got the update and it worked. Try searching "hdr video" on youtube, watch it and look at the quality setting.

Not interested about these HDR stuffs in the slightest but this article might be BS, cause I don't see any HDR option on an HDR video on YouTube on my Pixel XL, so might wanna check further on that before posting something like this.
