Amazon and Google sell millions of smart speakers thanks to aggressive pricing

04 January 2018
They lost money on each sale, but captured the market before Apple even had a chance to enter it.

My brother has the original Google Home and he uses to control his lights and change it to different colors too which is neat lol

With prices of microsoft's devices being premium, thats hardly they would compete. Cortana is also not perfect.

ethereal, 05 Jan 2018Sad, the mini isn't available in India yet. Even if available, dont expect it to be 30$ (or even original 50$). It will be likes of 5000 INR.
Between that, smart speakers now in India could relatively attract very less crowd and mostly AI's are not India bound or specific. So, currently they target US (or other English nations) where their AI will work more relatively!!

Sad, the mini isn't available in India yet.

The Minis are selling well in Australia at the moment. For many folk I think it'll be a short term novelty. Say stuff and the Mini talks back.
But I've met a couple of people for whom they have really worked. It'll stick for some.

Nothing wrong with the technology, but it was very difficult to recreate the same gaming experience you get with a controller by using camera/voice control.

SZTadir, 04 Jan 2018I am not a gamer, so I don't know much about Kinect. But it... morei think it was because it was more of a gimkick, required some space, and it was not very well advertised............I am not a dedicated gamer, and i never had a device with Kinect so i dunno if it had bugs or something, But i suggest checking out vids or articles about it cz it can be interesting. It was a kinda competitor to the Wii which used your body parts as controller or aomething like that.
