How does one like it, that his/her Note 8 is still on Nougat while someone else's X Compact is already on Oreo?

Do you know what Android S... moreI think the most logical reason why your XXZ1C hasn't received latest security patches (1-1-18 or 5-1-18) must be something with government laws about communications (like updating gadget software) that could be blocked the update firmware way to the consumer , or carrier doesn't/haven't made a decision to release the firmware (XZ1C doesn't have the latter although supports T-Mo VoLTE) , so only the former is the right answer) . If until now hasn't been rolled out , you could use XperiFirm and FlashTool to flash the US latest firmware to check it then update it if available or flash other region , especially Northern EU one as it as well gets the latest update (3rd-party developer Sony Xperia firmware application provider). Sony itself already posted the policy regarding security patches , OS major update and Meltdown-Spectre patches as they stated it will be rolled out by stage/phased update depending region/state where you're living now and rolling ASAP . But if this take too long , the first reason could be the nearest answer . I'm maybe wrong , but who knows?

Do you know what Android Security Patch Level does the US version of the Xperia ZX1 Compact? Let me tell you: August 2017 - this is a few months before the release of the device.
