Xiaomi will announce a high-end smartphone with a €250 price tag

04 September 2018
That's how much the Pocophone F1 costs in some countries and slightly more than the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE.

but even that maybe a tall story.

". . . the display doesn't quite look to be sitting flush with the body of the phone."
    - as stated in a review.

Build quality not better, than that of Zenfone Max Pro M1 for under $200.

    Also display-quality is not better
and network-coverage (No. of supported bands) is even entry level.
No support for HD-streaming and so on. (Not even in flagships!)
Xiaomi spared a lots of licencing costs, as usual.

No wunder here, you will get, what you pay for!

Anonymous, 04 Sep 2018you cant make a high end phone for that price. for that p... moreThat's the MOST STUPID thing NOOBS could say!

Look, in CHINA, every smartphone parts produced locally, and could be made for cheap!
here, Xiaomi plays the role of "excellent" chefs, mixing a mass-produced, cheap but good parts, with excellent parts which cannot be had for cheap, to make the best smartphone for both side: potential customers and Xiaomi itself (making name for themselves while only 7 years old is a HUGE achievement).

With the "available" design which has proven to be "popular / hyped", Xiaomi only need small adjustment in their phone design, resulting FAR less R&D cost.
also, with far fewer LTE bands, I think Xiaomi will pay less than other vendors, in this case, Xiaomi only adds bands mostly used in Asia.

Customer Service cannot be "fucked", as Xiaomi need to prove their phone is worthy to be had, proven by the availability of service centers (the quality of the service varies GREATLY)

lesser quality SD845? What did u smoke, dude?
It's like Qualcomm trying to shoot their own feet by selling faulty products!

Data gets sold? Go Googling to find ANY report about Xiaomi doing it before talking trash!
Xiaomi is not OPPO or VIVO where the former suspected of infringing personal data on ALL their overpriced, PoS phone

Advertisement? I use official MIUI (redmi note 4x) and NEVER get ANY BS u'r talking about

Bloatware? MIUI is known to be one of the heavily modded custom ROM with VERY useful bloatware, and it's not that much anyway.

Noobs need to learn, read, and do some research before start spreading BS lies!

No they won't, and that's mostly the case with the recent rumors and teasers about Xiaomi. The end product is usually inferior to what 'insiders' find out, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Or, Xiaomi's definition of high end is something like S636. Otherwise, with the current pricing tendencies, it will be a miracle.

Anonymous, 04 Sep 2018LCD screens suck though.... get what you pay forAmoled is better in black levels, yes. But in color accuracy, longevity (no amoled burn ins, no skewed white balance when short lived blue amoled pixels die) and in sharpness at the same resolution, NO. IPS LCD is better. And as a bonus, it is cheaper too.

                                https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone2=9293&idPhone3=9163&idCamera1=300511
Pay particular attention to fine detail retention in the donkey, the map, the dollar bill and Spong Bob (eyes). It's clear the Pocophone is slightly better than both in real lab controlled low light photo tests. And we're talking about flagships that cost 3X or more than the base Pocophone model (6GB RAM/64GB internal memory).

Xiaomi phones cannot stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and other video on demand services in 720p or 1080p. I expect a lot of consumers in Europeans and US markets to stay away when they find out this is the case, due to lack of Widevine L1 support. Very disappointing because otherwise Poco F1 seems like a great phone.
