From 2.2 to 2.3 is like nothing much and it takes them to long to update. Fragmentation in updates, softwares and hardwares.

AnonD-10547, 04 Nov 2011i'v one question to all android users.. Is android consumps... moreDepend on how you use it..
The most battery consume application is the internet.. Both for Amoled and non-Amoled display.

Comparing my current phone (Incredible S) with my old phone (Omnia 2 Windows Mobile) and iPod Touch,
Omnia 2 runs out of juice very quickly eventhough I switch it off for 1 week or heavy internet usage.. (Last for 3 hours)

incredible S is good for heavy internet user (Last for the whole day but recommended SGS 2/ Motorola RAZR because of large battery capacity) and iPod touch is good for music.. I play music using an iPod touch last for a few days..

            Good luck!

2.3.3? All android versions before 2.3.4 are vulnerable to attacks.

wow, 43.9% of android phones are running on software that is 12 months old; well done. Considering most manufacturers have a tendency to only update their top end handsets, I highly doubt that ice cream sandwich will reach more than 10% of current model phones.

If the updates improve the performance and features. That is a good thing. As android can be across many brands it surely has the edge on IOS, As the consumer figures show. Bottom line. People buy what they want.

Android is highly customizable for any user: rooted for techies or pre-configured for newbies--and also for any product across the price spectrum: high-end brand name hardware or low-end unbranded ones. iPhone is an excellent phone but only for a certain range of users, and for those willing to shell out $$$. WP has yet to prove itself after all past failed attempts to succeed in the smartphone market.

Just to John, you know android 4.0 is NOT out yet, so Samsung CAN'T upgrade your phone, and I probably wouldn't expect one before Christmas!

Thing that people dont understand about os update its that his not easy to do ! first your carrier need to have enough MR ( marketing release ) if it dosn't have it, you wont have any update... If it has you will receive it but it needs to be configure with your carrier application ( bell tv or whatever) so first of all ask your carrier if it will receive it and be patien ...
