Don't quite know what you mean with locking the bootloader, but adding 3 high quality camera's and all the added other features might justify the price hike. For me it's hard to judge when a phone has not even be released, but maybe you got inside information. I own a P20, my first and not my last Huawei btw.

Locking the bootloader, taking away basic features, while simultaneously hiking up the price, good luck with that. Mate 10 is my first and last Huawei phone.

A smart Shooter, 13 Oct 2018Huawei video recording for low light is just a mess! https:... moreThe Huawei video recording mess is only because lack of stabilization in 4k videos, i thought everyone know about this already, its their main weakness.
And that is in P20 Pro, with this Mate 20 there has no confirmation yet, be patient before bashing blindly using older device. If Mate 20 using OIS on the new camera, likely all problem will be solved, but if they still stick using EIS, hopefully they fix it in 4k recording.

In so many ways, the vanilla Mate 20 will probably be a much better phone than the Mate 20 Pro.
It kind of mirrors the situation late year too.
