Fast Downloads, 14 Nov 2011Finally, will catch up with friends from the US :)Catch up? America take much longer to implement it all around the country because it is much more vast. They still haven't got 80% coverage for 3G never mind 4.

before we get a 4g phone we will need a proper 4g network. LTE is NOT 4G.

AnonD-9657, 14 Nov 2011So, what this Article is saying is: London: a place that... moreLondon is the best place to test 4G conectivity, because it has the most amount of people living in any city in the UK.

If you want to test a new network, stress test it... London is your best bet. You've gotta remember, this isn't a replacement for Fibre Optic broadband, but a faster alternative to mobile browsing.

HRH George C, 14 Nov 2011Wise idea o2. Good areas to start the 4G network in too... moreActually you're wrong. O2 aren't miles ahead of the competition. Vodafone have been testing 4G and LTE networks in coalition with BT for a while now.

They plan to have the 4G network up and running for the 2012 Olympics, not just to handle the data influx as the world decends on London, but to prove that 4G is a useful, and more importantly "reliable" network interface. Vodafone ARE Britain's Best Network ;D

IN Latvia Baltic states 4G network test starts about half year ago so its nothing special and they arent first :)

So, what this Article is saying is:

London: a place that has a Wi-Fi Network, if not a Wi-Fi Hotspot, that You can see no matter where You are, within London, (aside from the Underground,) is having "4G.", implemented into the System?

If this is so, I would like to ask, "Why?".
The original concept of 4G. (Wi-Max,) was designed for Rural Areas, who couldn't get 100Mbps Fibre Optic Broadband...

When I see that MMO2, are bringing 4G. to London, I wonder how it makes any Business sense.
If You can connect to a Fibre-Optic Broadband Hot-Spot, or 4G...
                  What would You prefer?

Also, I wonder if 4G. Data will be at a higher price.
Do We really need 4G. ?

I for one, think that We don't need it in London.
Why is it a good Place to test it?

Aside from, for the compatibility of International 4G. Phones, on the UK. Networks, for the Olympics.
(Seeing as there is no SIM. Card to swap out, and MEID. Numbers instead of IMEI. Numbers.).

Of course, I thought that the English 4G. was going to be a completely different System, to the one everywhere else...

Could Anyone clue Me in, please?

                  Many thanks.

O2 wanna get their 3G coverage into gear before they even think about 4G. Their coverage is still poor

Hopefully, O2 can implement it in time for coming London 2012 to handle the data influx.
