than again ... " what mobile " is a very small player and they are from the king arthur country... always a diff opinion than the rest of the world ... I did had my hands on the Lumia yesterday during a nokia training.. nice phone, really, but not even close with the SGS II and/ore Iphone 4S.

AnonD-28640, 18 Nov 2011really? this means that it is better than the mighty Samsun... moreGS2 has 2 1.2 ghz cpus. how can this be better?
Cause there are and will be a handful of games and apps that will fully utilize that power. Think of it this way u run a company that makes games and you have a choice make a high quality game for only the GS2 or make an average quality game that will work on all Android devices. If one wants to profit the latter has to be their choice. I'm not against GS2 its a good phone, Android is just too wide spread it. If u think just cpu wise they vary from 500 mhz single cores to 1.5 ghz dual cores. Windows Phone however is 1 ghz to 1.4 ghz. Right now GS2 is like a Xbox 360 running Xbox games.

I am Nokia fan, but this news making me just smile. I tottaly disagree that Nokia Lumia 800 it's a good phone and can be phone of the year. Just big nonsense! Even HTC Titanic much better because I know both of them and play many times in store. Also you guy's can compare here these both mobiles by specifications.

How can a phone that they have not even tested yet be "Mobile of the year"? How much did Microsoft pay for this award?
WP7 is all media-hype that will die very soon after release and it is totally very obvious that it is far from as good as Android or iOS, and Nokia WP7 are far more expensive than even far better Androids!

Rediculous. A mobile that hasn't even been used by some gets the vote. When you have others like the Samsung GS2 selling over 10 million units, this beats it? Absurd.

but then again if it was an Apple product you will be jumping up and down about the 'innovations' that are usually about 4-5 years late on apple phones but hey no one can stop you from still praising Apple for things they never came up with and were VERY late but still called innovation and 'firsts'

Cos Nokia fanboys are the type of people to bother voting, also how many of them actually have the phone ?

Speaking as someone who has been involved with the British publishing and awards industry (as a vendor/tech guy), believe me, it is often based on back handers and who you know. Very little to do with the product. Not that the N800 is not innovative, it is different, but my comment is simply to ensure GSM Arena readers (and others!) that it's all a bit like Hollywood and the Oscars. You know what I mean!
(I am not implying that this occurred with the N800 - my comment is general.)

The best way to judge a product is the user feedback and reviews from credible tech blogs, including this one.

Just don't understand this, how can a mobile that has only been out a few days be voted best at the awards, What if this set has lots of problems the award would look pretty ridiculous then does sound like a farce.

I would like to say I am a Nokia user but disagree with this award totally.

Wonder what the SGS2 and Android fanboys think now?

WP7 wave has started, and will certainly take Android market share in 2012.
