Weekly poll: are dual screens the way forward or unnecessary increase in cost

02 December 2018
With a screen on the back, you can use the main camera to get much higher quality selfies. But what else are second screens good for?

Notsure, 02 Dec 2018A second screen is good but I would make the front one IPS,... moreYeah good idea 🙄

A second screen is good but I would make the front one IPS, so it doesn't get burn in Maps, browser or chat, and a back one OLED, so I can watch movies with infinite contrast.

I mean, I still use my Nokia N96 sometimes, I bought that thing in 2009 and I've never put a case on it.
I can't even think of using nowadays flagships without a case for over a year, these overpriced things are so fragile and replacing a broken screen cost so much. What went wrong with mobile phones?
Make fragile glass phones just for Wireless charging (some don't even have wireless charging even though they have a glass back). Who decided that we need to charge our phones wirelessly? That thing is not even wireless, since you still have to plug that charger to a wall Socket.
I never imagined in my life that phones will cost over 1000€.
I wouldn't go as far as say that phones nowadays are useless, but frankly OEM are exaggerating.

I think a tiny screen on the back is just fine. All screen on front and no additional gimmicks. Folding phone is not a solution. Not in today's style anyway. Once it is in morpheus style, I would consider it. This isn't it.

I can safely predict that the display hole is the only trend that will become mainstream, kind of how the notch was mainstream for the past year. Pop-Up/Manual Sliders, Periscope-Cameras & Dual-Screen phones all work, but have certain disadvantages which will not allow them to become trendy. We will see these phones in smaller numbers though, mostly as alternative options. The market is going to be flooded with display hole phones for the next 1-2 years at least, until they find a better solution.

Screen on the back like Nubia X is just amazing and gorgeous the way it blends seemlessly with the back glass is a piece of art and I would happily trade front camera, slider and pop up for that

Namelesss, 02 Dec 2018Stop making phones more expensive, whatever the reason. Cam... moreWhat they do need tho is, 6 cameras on the back, 3 on the front minimum. Or 2 screens over the whole darn device. Or screen inches and estate.
Thats the innovation people need these days obviously...
When OEMs run out of ideas, they just add on things...
              It sells obviously.

Well, I wish I could have only one sensor 1/1.3" sized and lens 25 - 150 mm
But it needs a lot of space, not even coiuntong that bigger sensor generates more heat

Well, you all wanted trendy bezelles & now notchless devices.
So, dont complain, just Pay up.

second screen to avoid notch and for "better" selfie?....not the brightest idea ever.

Stop making phones more expensive, whatever the reason. Camera quality was more than enough already last year, just increase battery size as much as possible (why not a Samsung galaxy S8+ with a 10000 mAh battery).
We don't need fancy face unlock system, in-screen fingerprint scanners and whatever gimmicks you people try to force in us.
