Dear Arena guys....what for you doing this analysis now and then......what is its significance or any practical outcome if we know distribution of various versions of same OS...? Comparing percentage of iOS, Android, Anna and Bada etc is still understandable....

What I'm amazed about is that there was quite some claims that Tegra2 sales were hold back due to Google not having HC out yet and that Tegra2 would be able to take a significant part of the tablet-market. Having sold no more than about 6 million (there aren't really that much non-tegra2 HC tablets) tells a sad story about the actual state.

With these numbers, it's quite likely that the non-HC tablets, those running Android 2.2/2.3 and using a wide range of SoCs, have a bigger marketshare than the HC-tablets. Especially after Amazon released it's Kindle Tablet.

Please do a chart of how many different graphic chips are there in android and compares to windows phone 7 with only Andreno and iOS with only PowerVR SGX, then tell me what fragmentation is.

I'm wondering if I am the only one here that's somewhat surprised (not compared to the october numbers, but in general) about the extremely small amount of HC devices. There is a claim of over 200 million android devices being in use in November 2011, of which roughly 2.5% is an HC device. That equals about 6 million Tablets only.

I follow all upgrades on the various Android Forums & weigh up the pro's & con's. As far as I can see, no matter where you are or which carrier you use, the Gingerbread upgrades are laggy & can be full of bugs. Yes, the odd one or two people are trouble-free, but the majority lose wifi or SMS or get unwanted re-boots etc... My Froyo is trouble-free & Gingerbread adds minimal enhancements, so why change??? The Apps Market means I have a "new" handset as often as I desire! :-)

You also got to take into consideration the people that don't update and the ones that don't even know anything about updates. They don't even bother clicking update software on their phones.

They're stuck in the NOKIA world 3+ years ago.
