Xiaomi President smashes a walnut with a Redmi Note 7 in slow motion

18 January 2019
That's one way to demo the durability of a phone. And show off the 960fps skills of the Mi 8, which recorded the carnage.

Sort by:

but he didn't showed the phone condition after that, maybe the phone has already broken though...

Just think.. Walnut cracking using Phone.. who does that...

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2019Poco has made a lot of compromises to reach the price point... moreAnd yet, of those compromises mean nothing to the buyer it's a great device. It really is, to bad the internet is flooded of anonymous trolls spreading hate.

Does it have a lot of power?
        Yes, SD845/Adreno 630

Is that power compromised by bad thermal handling?
        No

Is that power compromised by low amount of RAM?
No, it has plenty of RAM and "futureproof"

Is it power compromised by a weak battery?
No, it has a big battery

Is it compromised by having a AMOLED screen, prone to burn-in and massive screen-door effect if used with VR?
Luckily no, it has a very goods IPS display with and average DeltaE of 0.9 in the 'Standard Contrast'-mode.

Is it built out of coke can aluminium, that some people consider premium?
        No

How about easy scratch & crack glass?
        Still no.

It's made of highly durable plastic.

Well then it's gotta be compromised in the camera department, right?
Still no. While it's not amung the top 3 in dxo or anything, it's still a stellar performer, and can even be improved by third party apps.

So only thing missing really is NFC for those who for some reason want to use their big phones for paying with NFC rather than a smaller and more practical NFC card. All my payment cards have been NFC enabled for years. I use different cards for different stores (benefits), and it is by all means possible to do the same with the phone, just a lot more clunky.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2019Do you know mi mix copied design from Sharp phones sold 2 y... moreDo I know that the original Mi Mix was not the first tri-bezelless phone?

Yes, I do. Did you also know that the Mix (1) used a Sharp display? Is the Mi Mix line small screened devices with massive chins? No, so they're not copies of any Sharp device.

The Sharp Aquos Crystal, was a tiny little 5" device with HD screen and with a massive chin (especially considering it's size) powered by a SD400-series, and it was pretty much a japan only device. Hence it made little impact on the cellphone landscape itself.

It wasn't until the Mi mix the (tri)bezelless trend really kicked off as it made giant waves with it's huge 6.4" screen and for it's time also slim bottom bezel. There were many devices inspired by it.

Try smash it on thick brick wall or on rough surface of alphalt rock road or knocking it with sledgehammer if the phone survive without any single scratch or crack I will buy 10 of it.

Oh I can use this to smash someone I hate especially at my work lol

Those are most selling many people using samsung as well but on a Samsung phone we have a lot more claims that on huawei or Xiaomi.
                                  Especialy J3 2016 and J5 2016 was horrible.
                                  Same goes for Apple.
Their latest phones are outstanding but only the latest ones.
Iphones of 5-6-7 and Plus versions are really bad and they are returned often for claims usualy battery problems.
